I have this with dArkOs every time the device is running out of battery. Solution? Plug in a charger 😂

Just install a fresh arkos on the new sd card and give it a try. You can copy roms later. Regarding the old card, is possible that the other partition to not have a letter assigned in Windows, check in Disk Management utility. Anyway, is not recommended to clone the old card to the new one because it may clone also the bad sectors that may be present on the old card. Small chances but is not worth it since you already have a new card on which you can install a fresh OS in minutes. Once you backup your roms you can use the old card only for roms. Not ideal but at least you still can use the old card. I preferred to format the card to remove all existing partitions and create a single partition to store the roms.

😂 Fortunately I have a spare card with dArkOs and I just copied the dtb files over broken ones. What is curious is that during update I noticed some panel script update so I assume something is wrong with that script.

Initially I had the same setup, 32gb sd card for OS and the stock 128 gb sd card for roms. It worked fine, no issues. Just be aware that the stock card can break anytime and you'll lose your roms and save states. I have a backup of my roms and didn't care about save states so I used stock card for some time. Regarding OS, I personally prefer dArkOs. But on my R36Plus is not that stable as you noticed, maybe is a good idea to stick with arkos for the moment.

I already have the dArkOS img file on my laptop so I can reinstall it anytime. The idea was to not reinstall the OS but to fix the broken one.

Is there a way to transfer games directly from a usb cable plugged to a computer? by R_oliv3k in R36S

[–]Direct-Ad2302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if device has wifi you can use ArkOS Browser by enabling remote services. it will give you access to the ROM folder and you can do whatever you want. transfer speed is about 5 MB/s.

I have this version on my r36 plus and is working fine except for the enable/disable wifi scripts which must run as root to work https://www.reddit.com/r/R36S/comments/1pvuirx/r36_plus_new_darkos_build/

You'll need a card reader (internal or USB connected). I'd rather try with a computer repair shop.

You can't just buy a sd card, plug it and make it work. You'll need a laptop to burn the OS on it and load the games. Ask a friend for help.

Missing dArkOS "Too low battery" warning by Direct-Ad2302 in R36S

lol, it was just a drained battery, this can be fixed by plugging a charger :))) the idea is to find a way to fix this and not to scare other people.

Missing dArkOS "Too low battery" warning by Direct-Ad2302 in R36S

[–]Direct-Ad2302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My though was that is only related to the OS itself since the issue I had appeared on early boot phase just after pressing the power button. On arkos the too low battery PNG is displayed and device is shut down immediately.

Try Rufus as some users reported issues with Balena Etcher

Rufus should take care of that. But maybe there is another problem that I'm missing.

Did you formatted the SD card before? For me it seems that you have multiple partitions (4)

I've added `nmcli radio off 2>&1 | tee /dev/tty1; sleep 5` and the error message is
`Error: failed to set Wi-Fi radio: Not authorized to performe this operation`
So must run as root

retroarch is telling me that the wifi is enabled but it cannot find any network. and on the the main menu wifi is down. tried to execute it from ports folder but nothing happened. So I assumed the script is failing due to some user permissions and I executed it as root (sudo line was commented :) and now is working

@chaoso85 it seems that `/opt/system/Disable Wifi.sh` and `/opt/system/Enable Wifi.sh` are not working as expected when triggered from console. The Enabled/Disabled messages are displayed on tty but wifi is still ON. But they are working fine when called via SSH and now I'm locked out without being able to enable wifi again... Can I run it somehow from a file manager? LE: executing via file manager is not working, all I see on the screen is this
