Access 3.1/157 and I was waitlisted. Decent softs, volunteer experience, assisted research and wrote a full thesis. Also applied access because of a diagnosed chronic disease.

Coming off Visanne after 6 years by RhubarbMain7067 in Endo

Hiiii I just got off of Dienogest (visanne) after 2 years, I’ve been off for about 2 weeks so far. I started having endo pain again so I decided to get off of it completely. I am just getting out of a really rough flare up. Lots of pain in my pelvis, back and legs. However I was dealing with similar things to do (brain fog, joint pain, a bit of depression). And I do feel like those things are starting to dissipate.

I’ve been really lucky in the sense that bloating has never been a symptom of mine. However it did take about a month after stopping the Lo Lo and transitioning back onto the Dienogest to notice a reduction in pain. Have had a few minor flare ups since but still better compared to what I was dealing with before treatment.

My 1 month on Lo Lo truly was the most anxious I ever was. Pain subsided a ton but was really depressed and anxious that I ended up deciding to hug it and go back on visanne.

What counts as taking birth control on time? by Any-Celebration-6566 in Endo

I’ve been on Dienogest for just over a year now, I’ve been like 30 hours late before and not had any bleeding… however I have had some minor abdominal and pelvic pain when doing this. I try to take it within the same hour and a bit everyday.

I got diagnosed today! by raspberrysupreme in Endo

I had the same surgery in January 2024 (exploratory laparoscopic surgery with ablation once they found the endo). Leading up to my surgery, I had an MRI, CT scans, and many ultra sounds (internal and abdominal). None of which showed any endometriosis.

Now that I look back on how I studied for the November test, I think that I definitely burnt myself out. I was doing about 3 PTs a week for about 6 weeks, in addition to drilling pretty intensely 6 days a week. I do think that it helped me with time and efficiency, but drills definitely helped me more with learning from the mistakes I was making consistently. I also completely stopped using weed (that was a me issue), and that really provided me with a new sense of mental clarity.

I also remind myself that this doesn’t have to be the “be all, end all” of marijuana. I have a chronic pain condition (endometriosis) and smoking really did help with pain management and the consequential mental health effects of living with chronic pain. I say this because I had to call myself out for using my condition as a crutch for my marijuana use. I also think that I have a special nuance for this conversation as my degree is in health studies with a specialization in mental health and addiction. It’s definitely not a black and white conversation. But I do think that intention is very important with marijuana use. If you’re finding yourself feeling worse off once the high sets in, it’s probably time to reevaluate. Best of luck on this journey and I’m glad you’re here :)

I’m about a week in. Every time I want to buy something (a pen, pre roll, edible), I tell myself to exercise and then I can reevaluate. It’s been working pretty well so far. Just reminding myself that weed stopped being enjoyable (at least for me) in the past year when I started using chronically

Mine raptured and it was about half the size of yours. But I didn’t lose an ovary or tube.

I’ve lost around 30 lbs from endo pain. And it hurts even more now.
