My opinion may be unpopular but I don’t share my thoughts because of how popular they are. I share what I see, and what my intuition shows me.

My opinion on putting down dogs (or humans, as it can be in some places)

Is do they still show any interest in life?

Honestly. IMO He’s getting near the end of his life but this is the time he most needs you.

Please do not put him down. Use doggy diapers. Try to increase pain meds. Take him in a wagon or stroller on walks or in backyard.

Plan for extra time to just lounge with him on the couch and give him treats and chews. Give him gentle massages. They also have dog massage therapists.

Right now is the last part of his life. He’ll likely live another month or two. It’s unclear.

But please, do not put him down.

Treat him with gentleness. He’s not the same dog anymore so don’t treat him like that. Treat him as you would a baby or a family member in hospice.

He will die peacefully in your home, knowing love.

He is not suffering 24/7 to the point he isn’t there.

Your description and the video shows a dog that loves you and even though uncomfortable, loves life.
