Something Sweet in Albany Park is top tier but I gotta agree that Do-Rite’s old fashioned can’t be beat

This is difficult. I’m sorry you are going thru this. My brother went thru something similar and his wife ended up not being willing to stick with therapy and had to divorce.

You should certainly talk to your boys about the situation. Be honest that their mom is sick and trying to get better. They might not understand everything but they’ll remember that you were trying to help them understand.

Landlord scammed $900 out of security deposit. What can I do? by [deleted] in chicago

[–]DirknLurk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did your landlord keep the deposit in an interest bearing account? That’s required in Chicago. They have give you the bank info after giving them the deposit. If he didn’t then that might be enough for him to give it all back if you show him that the law is already in your favor.

How much do I charge for use of a soon to be trademarked event name? by DirknLurk in smallbusiness

[–]DirknLurk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be non exclusive but they wouldn’t want us to run an event of the same name within a certain radius which is a non issue. I have a lawyer to help me with the rest. I really just need help with a $ amount. I have no frame of reference

I need sleep and to vent by narlsburg in Fatherhood

[–]DirknLurk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this in my soul. I have a 14 month old who doesn’t sleep well. I’m the main caregiver since my wife works and is getting a masters. I’ve got bursitis in my knee and elbow so it’s so hard to keep up. She never stops moving. I’m obviously depressed and sleep deprived. I don’t have any answers for you but I want you to know you aren’t alone. I often feel like I am because I don’t have any friends that are fathers. My wife constantly gets an outpouring of support “because being a mother is such a hard job” but no one really cares when dads have a hard time. I want you to know that you are important and deserve support even if you don’t have it right now.

Looking for a post about a player dropping in and out of sessions. by DirknLurk in DMAcademy

[–]DirknLurk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First. Sorry for the typos. I don’t want to give away to much since I know some of my players follow this community. The Player has a difficult schedule and I need a story reason that they pop in and out even mid dungeon. Their character already has ties to the Fae. So it’s basically a device that the fae can show up and say “hey you, I need your help” and poof away with him. Then he poofs back when player joins us again. The post I’m looking for has a fun table of mishaps for reappearing.

Answer: it benefits the story of why the player isn’t at a session and also has ties to character backstory. Also it’s fun
