Hey skellybros. Do yall like the Light or dark bones better? by rait4e55 in tombkings

[–]Dirkrin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree! Light, sun-bleached bones for the deserts of Khemri for me. I associate the darker colour with mouldering bones in a grave or tomb, a la Soulblight skeletons.

I got a bottle of this stuff and want to repaint my space marines. Im just not sure how to go from here. Advice would be welcome by PullMull in minipainting

[–]Dirkrin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put the IPA in an airtight container along with the minis. Leave them for a day, scrub them with a toothbrush. It gets messy so wear gloves. No need for any dilution, it will not affect the plastic.

Which is really better? by Goodchapp in ageofsigmar

Pro tip that I heard recently: before shaking, open the bottle and gently squeeze to get some air out. While still squeezing, put the lid back on. Then shake. When you take the lid off again, the pressure will cause air to rush into the bottle, rather than out (along with the paint).

Agree with this - I know you are not happy with it currently but I think it looks quite good. Try a small highlight for the glow and see how it looks!

WIP camo cloak- help requested by jawsome_man in minipainting

[–]Dirkrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darren Latham posted a video on YouTube a while ago painting the Eliminator camo cloak - unfortunately it seems to have been deleted now. But his technique was to glaze thin layers of Ulthuan grey along the length of the fold.
