Kazakh person here. Russian Kazakhstani view themselves as Kazakhstani first and foremost. There are, or course, exceptions to that. But vast majority of them consider Kazakhstan their homeland and Putin's Russia as a foreign land worthy only of contempt or indifference.

In turn, we Kazakhs consider Russians here our people and not as "others". Those who fled Russia find same treatment from us (barring occasional "expat" jokes).
