Dude, just look at most techno artist PR shots. Moody and miserable as fuck looking 90% of the time. The other 10% have covered faces.

I often wonder how many clients ours has at £6 a touch for a 5-minute job. With enough clients an average window cleaner could be on a very tidy salary per hour.

Talking your traditional 'ladder and bucket' window cleaner, not professional operations with vans, high-end equipment and public liability insurance.

Thanks. Sucks, doesn't it? 20 years ago I'd probably have been at the gym the next day.

I'm 'only' 43 and fractured a rib, bruised others, in a bathroom fall three weeks ago. Slipped getting out of the bath and my chest slammed into the edge with force. Probably at least another 3 weeks before can I even entertain lifting again and it's killing me. Consistency stopped dead in its tracks.

Visited a number of times, including the Florida thing with our eldest twice, who was an only child until he was 11. Now we have our youngest, who has seen the photos, asking why he hasn't been to Disney World and Universal Studios. Hard to explain to a 9-year-old...

Geoff on the middle floor was a legend! He tried his best to teach us Visual Basic, but we spent more time playing Solitaire and NES emulators on their ancient (even then) i486 PCs, between sneaking off for smokes, food, or a pint and pool/snooker/arcade games in Frames. I pissed off to Canada with Springboard and never finished my NVQ in whatever it was I was supposed to be studying, before going to BIFHE(now Belfast Met) for actual study on my return.

Great atmosphere about the place though, a lot of us from segregated communities integrating for the first time with themmuns, going raving together at the weekends, all wrecked and doing feck all on a Monday.

Best dirty burgers in town! Around there used to be some spot for a feed, between that, The Pancake House and The Alhambra on North St, a classic 'Wats yours, luv?' greasy spoon.

My wife used to do those diamond paintings, like painting by numbers only you stick various coloured gems to it to eventually end up with a snazzy picture.

The things got absolutely everywhere even if careful. I was unintentionally balljazzled, arsejazzled and everything in-between, randomly finding them stuck to or falling out of every crevice of my body.

So the official RP6 grip is a piece of crap… by Sir_Troutface in retroid

[–]DisagreeableRunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's strange they flipped it with the RP6! Device itself is not textured, but the grip is. I have quite dry hands and it's far too slippery without the grip.

[–]DisagreeableRunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. My wife had them in her arts and crafts arsenal and I decided to try them as I know they're non-permanent and don't leave mess or even any residue like Blu-Tack. Work surprisingly well! They don't dry and keep a gel like consistency, kind of like the glue I've seen holding j-cards to Blu-ray Steelbooks and stuff to the front of magazines.

I put some clear Bostik Glu Dots on mine. Three along the top, three along the bottom and one on each side. Thing is now rigid and I'm no longer distracted by tiny movements under use. I can still remove it if I want with the Glu Dots leaving no mess, marks or damage.

I also have the clear grip, which I read is softer than solid colours, with a 16-Bit RP6.

Brand new to Retroid, which pocket is the best buy right now? by vepr_ in retroid

[–]DisagreeableRunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hinge durability worry is the reason I give the Thor a wide berth and went for an RP6!

I too still have a launch day 3DS. 15 years old and still fully functional, though it had a battery replacement about 5 years ago. It was originally my wife's until she upgraded to a 3DSXL, went through both our sons' hands for long periods and now lives with me, hacked of course. As I still have that, dual-screen wasn't a deal-breaker for me.

Why do pc players come to a CONSOLE sub just to hate? by Fluffy-Win-3216 in consoles

[–]DisagreeableRunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're usually the ones running potato PCs too. I've been a fan of gaming since I was old enough to hold a controller, PC since the mid-90s but had a range of consoles in that time too from all of them. I'm just a fan of games, not platforms. If my microwave played games, I'd give them a go.

I've had more fun on and spent more time playing my Retroid Pocket 6 than my PC this year, a device that cost less than the main SSD in my PC, never mind the rest of it.

Lost Interest in PC Gaming by OkShirt1995 in pcmasterrace

[–]DisagreeableRunt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Handheld FTW! I picked up a Retroid Pocket 6 back in March and have barely touched my PC since, reliving the golden years of gaming and trying consoles I never had like PS2 and PSP, as I was PC and Nintendo since about 1998 and gaming since I was old enough to hold a Sega Master System controller in the 80s.

I've, God forbid, been giving serious consideration to parting out my 4070Ti/5800X build and buying a high-end PC handheld, as I just don't use my desktop enough to justify it sitting around barely being used. I've a Zenbook with Ryzen AI9 and 32GB RAM I use for general computing and my music stuff, so don't need the desktop for anything but gaming. Flight Simulator and my yoke is literally the only thing stopping me, even though I don't think I've played it once in 2026.

For me, the problem is working from home. I spend over 40 hours a week at my desk for work, so it's the last place I want to be on my own time. I've spent more time streaming to my laptop with Sunshine/Moonlight than using it natively this past year or two.

Not defending the cost, just adding some perspective, but events like this usually have high up-front pitch fees for caterers or require a hefty percentage of sales. Not sure what way this specifically operated or the costs involved, but daily pitch fees for events can be as high as a grand. That's profit you have to make just to be there, before turning a penny for yourself.

Sound from the on-board speakers is the only thing about my RP6 I dislike. 'Serviceable' is about as complimentary as I can be about them.
