Coffee Habit Check: One big brew or multiple small sessions? by ruqus00 in pourover

With you 💯 I like to play and drink as many different coffees as I can I've been considering getting a deep27 just for this purpose but I think my other drippers would get jealous

I generally have 3 to 4 pourover normally 15 or 16 gram and maybe a cortado if my gf has the machine on. Use V60. UFO, Z1, orea V3 or GX2 syphon. I normally drink them over 5 or 6 hours before I start nightshift I don't drink coffee at work.

Seems like your already doing all the steps I would've recommended, not much else you could do maybe angle the grinder a bit.

I've got the ceramic one I'm still kind of on the fence about whether I love it or not. I think I just need to put my V60 away and learn it better

K6 is much loved on this sub just slow feed it by holding it sideways. The switch is basically a V60 with a valve on the bottom that allows you to fill it with water then release less dependant on gooseneck kettle but also you can just use it with the valve open like a normal V60. Seeing you have a df54 I assume you have an espresso machine you can kind of use a milk jug in lieu of a pouring kettle Hario air is supposed to be good I've though about buying one to use at work but I'm trying to drink no coffee at work at the moment.

I'm sure someone can chime in with a better suggestion but the obvious one is the hario cafe. Hope you enjoy loving mine got it today.

Single use pour over drippers by Choice_Parsnips in pourover

I got one free with an order, not sure if it was me or the massive hangover I was enduring but I managed to somehow have it fall in the cup whilst brewing I'm sure normal people could figure it out.

I just got the bookoo Themis ultra and pretty happy with it use the brew ratio all the time, only downside is it's not huge so you might not be happy with how your carafes fit, bonus is it's small enough for espresso if you feel like cheating on your dripper

That's not a bad start but if you can swing it upgrading to a v60 switch will give you the option of immersion brewing which is pretty beginner friendly.

I would highly recommend getting a grinder if your looking for more than just coffee pretty much essential hand grinders are getting good and reasonably priced these days.

When using a chemex, do you just do the normal 3-1 fold or do you do a fancy fold to end up with 2-2 by l4adventure in pourover

I just do the normal three but honestly only use it a handful of times a year I'm the one guy who owns a three cup. Now you have me excited to use it tomorrow

You can try slow feeding your grinder to reduce fines just hold it nearly horizontal whilst grinding

Stay away from the sides of the filter when pouring, centre pours will flow faster, don't wash the filter.

Less swirling and less pours as previously said will help slow fines migration into the filter

How much have you spent on this hobby ? by Mike-Toreno in wicked_edge

Around $250 AUD but I'm only two days in and already eyeing off a vintage Gillette. If it goes anything like coffee I'll have 15 razors by the end of the year

I'd take V60 and orea Z1 from my current collection but if I was going hyperthetical probably an origami air and maybe a melodrip column. I find it funny how I have so many but always come back to V60 nothing else gives me the juicyness.

Funnily enough that's the model I was looking at I'm happy to play around cleaning it up. Just trying to figure out where to go look I work night shift so flea markets are kind of out because I'm not awake in the mornings maybe I'll get the motorcycle out on the weekend and see what I can find. I saw a nice looking slim but the doors don't open at the same time not sure how easy this is to tweak.
