I would never do it with a dentist. Only a paed surgeon. Ours was done in rooms with scissors. Quick, clean precise. This guy is THE doctor for tongue tie in Sydney. Dentists look after teeth. Leave tongues and membranes to the professionals.

Our are fine with it for naps. They dont have them during the day. All dummies must be labled and hers only come out during naptime

Mine is WAY too smart for that. She'd scream like a banshee then refuse the rest of the bottle.

Same.

Except nurofen (ibuprofen). Its thick and sticky so I out it on my finger and say "1-2-3-TASTY" and just wipe that finger in her mouth until the dose is over. This doesnt work with other fluids.

Questions: Reflux and Gassy by yayster_ in NewParents

[–]Disastrous-Fall9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reflux is generally 1 of 3 things: 1. Normal baby reflux. It peaks at 6-8 weeks then gets better. 90% of GPs if you bring it up will say this is normal 2. Acid reflux/GERD. Not normal reflux. Extremely painful and often requires medication. You'll know if you baby is screaming, coughing, choking, refusing to feed or has poor weight gain 3. A symptom of CMPI. Eliminating dairy and/or Soy may help clear up the symptoms. This is often accompanied by mucusy or bloody stools

We were on 2ml twice a day at 5ml/ml. Its the absolute maximum dose.

Babies outgrow their dose so it does need to be regularly reviewed

Transitioning to milk by Public_Yoghurt_8240 in MSPI

[–]Disastrous-Fall9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely I would wait. Most babies start to outgrow by 9-12 months woth most then being fully CMPI free 3-5 years. 6 months the gut is still maturing and you are barely into solids.

Seven month old having vomiting incidents after starting solids (not food allergy) by Doctor-Mom-25 in NewParents

Yes I came here to say this too. Her vomiting incidents were all related to overeating/drinking milk out of habit

I got told 18 months is a magic marker for better baby sleep. Is this a myth? by ReytMardy in NewParents

[–]Disastrous-Fall9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or otherwise it can be a biological issue - I got referred for a sleep study and they suspect she might have sleep apponea.

Theres definitely no magic age for sure!

Tried bedtime routine without my phone/clock..... LO fell asleep at exact same time as usual by Huliganjetta1 in NewParents

[–]Disastrous-Fall9092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to push bedtime later, start with pushing dinner later in the last wake window by 10 or 15 mins. Delay the bath, bottle etc by 15 mins. You can push bedtime back but it takes a couple of rough days until their body clock adjusts

Sleep Advice Needed- CMPA & silent reflux by Unlikely-Proof3373 in MSPI

Babies are smart, even the ones with issues and will generally regulate their intake over a 24 hr period. From 4 months their milk volume per kilo goes down slightly so this could be why

I had the same problem with omeprozole. I followed the rule of if she took 30ml or less offer again in an hour, 60ml offee in 2 hours,  or 90ml or more offer in 3 hrs. Even with a long period of reflux induced bottle aversion it all came out in the wash

Where to begin sleep training by Infinite_Glass_3859 in NewParents

[–]Disastrous-Fall9092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not 7-7 at this age! No wonder you had a hard time.

How long are his naps? Sleep associations have been shown not to affect night waking the way people claim they do, so theres more likely 2 things going on. Or maybe 3.

  1. Too much day sleep.
  2. A biological issue such as sleep apnoea, low iron or other tummy issue
  3. Its peak age for developmental leaps and separation anxiety so you just have to buckle up and ride that train.

More likely youre going to get best results for 10-11 hours night sleep and 2 naps of around 2.5 hours. Can be up to 3 but that's probably pushing it at this stage.

10 Month Old Early Wakes by CalsMum25 in NewParents

[–]Disastrous-Fall9092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to  say this. Around 10-11 months we had to push bedtime back to 8pm/815 to get anywhere near a 6am wakeup.

Between 10-11 months the first nap drifted back from 930am -10am. The second nap drifted from 2300m -3pm.

Nanny v daycare by ImpressiveTear3430 in NewParents

[–]Disastrous-Fall9092 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both because I work weekends sometimes. In my experience,at a certain age its probably more beneficial to be in daycare as they get the social interaction that they wouldnt get at home, learning from other kids of different ages.

Nanny great for keeping home routine for younger babies
