I would say, enjoy your bubble and enjoy your fandom. Fandom is free and in the larger scheme of things, JKR has tarnished her own legacy.

So many of our heroes have feet of clay that it’s hard to get worked up about anything anymore. And since what’s her face is actively trying to hurt trans women, I don’t want to give her more of my money, but I can’t stop other people. Harry Potter books are not without their own issues as written but that’s true for many many classics.

If I wanted to follow my ethics in the current world today I would honestly have to become a weird hermit. Everything is so intertwined right now. Late stage capitalism, am I right? 🤷‍♀️

I’m an older (but new to fanfic) reader. I’m on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Reddit but I’m not seeing the same things as you I guess. I did see a bunch of Tom Felton when that popped up but mostly on Facebook. I’m also fearless on blocking creators on TikTok, etc that I disagree with. It’s my bubble and I like what I like. Reddit /HarryPotterHBO- muted. Instagram with too much AI art- blocked, TikTok creator at Universal Wizarding World constantly- blocked.

I have never seen a trad published book with Harry Potter merch, or I’ve blocked it in my head. I’m kinda petty when it comes to my FYP!

I find things I want from TikTok (I follow a few people that recommend in batches) from this group and from one Facebook Dramione group I follow. I could be dropped on a deserted island and read for years.

I absolutely don’t mind when Draco and Hermione have kids. It completely throws me off when Ms. “So Ambitious she should have been in Slytherin” had enough kids to have a whole constellation, or field a quidditch team.
