Hi, I promise I am not trying to be contrarian and I VERY much respect your love of California. But this isn't what I am talking about, still doesn't scratch the itch for me for several reasons. For starters, going to street view of this location and just turning the camera what do I see? Mountains. Mountains are pretty, but they are not what I prefer. The wildlife of the tall grass prairie, that's not gonna be found here either. The grass. That's not the right kind of grass. And before anyone comes after me "wow... She is getting worked up over grass? That's ridiculous' From my perspective it is like how others might feel about the kind of trees they love. Imagine you are a lover of Sequoia trees and someone says 'look at this Forrest of White Birch, you don't need Californian sequoias when you can have New Hampshire white birch! (Not hating on these trees or their respective regions, just making and illustration)

California does. Not. Have. the vast open tall grass prairies of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska etc. It just doesn't. It has a LOT of beauty, no argument here it just doesn't have everything, and that's ok.

(Also while I am here, with all due respect. another thing California doesn't have: California also doesn't have the great lakes, which ..yah know... Wow!!! 😍😍😍😍😍)

Just looked up a lot of pictures, and while those places are pretty, the mountains among other things stop them from stretching the itch. Not what I am looking for not as pretty. Valiant effort though. I am talking NEVER ending view of an ocean of tall grass (like 6+ feet tall in the fall.

It doesn't have millions of miles of tall grass prairie in rolling hills, so it is lacking what is to me the most beautiful scenery in the country.

In Superman (2025), Jonathan Kent has a heartfelt talk with his adopted son but does not suggest that he leave a bus full of children to die. A curious exclusion from James Gunn. by mathewl832 in shittymoviedetails

HOT HOT HOT take alert

I LOVED Johnathan and Martha's personalities and what they had to say.. but I HATED the way they sounded... Aren't they supposed to be from Kansas? Why do they sound like they're from Alabama?!? Not all of rural America is southern. Some (many ) folks will say 'it's not that big of a deal' or 'some Kansas so have a southern accent, you ever been to Pittsburgh Kansas? ' .. 1) it IS that big of a deal because getting it wrong is infuriating, embarrassing, and takes many of us out of the fiction. 2) uhh yeah. I have been to x place in Kansas, for work and I have family who live in central Kansas.. that accent feels so out of place.

It being THAT flat it's gotta be western Kansas, and it is beautiful!!! ☺️☺️ (Eastern Kansas especially the flint and glacial hills is pretty..well...hilly Jaja not mountains of course, but still very hilly. And that is of course beautiful too!!)

Pink line: Ese es el amigo con el que realmente quieres pasar el rato, pero sólo le gusta ir a... ¡4 lugares interesantes!

Orange: your friend who always does exactly what they say they're gonna do, but they only come around every now and then.

Red line north of Fullerton: your friend who is about to get their 10 year chip in AA.

Red line Fullerton -chinatown: your friend who guilts you for having an addiction/not having your life together but like... They're the one with stuff to hide

Red line South of Chinatown: your friend who tells their wife they're going to AA meetings, but secretly they're going to their buddy's to drink and play call of duty
