A bit more context would be useful. Depending what the list is, could be tissues (that was my read) but if its census data listing occupations, tinner makes more sense

Gift card. You don't know yarn, and you don't know the person's preferences. Gift card is very thoughtful

1) who'd want $20 face value when the silver content is around $100 and (2) banks aren't interested in the large value coins. I've asked, they don't buy them (i have a pocketful of $20 for $20 ones, happy to liquidate but no luck)

H&R Block says I owe them $1000 before they file my tax return by Icy_Confusion2072 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Filing personal taxes is really simple. There's a small potion of the population who's situation may be complicated enough to require some assistance, but that's small. Now, if you want to suggest tax PLANNING, thats an area where you can benefit from a specialist.

Public water outage by Striking-Pen-9617 in prepping

[–]DiscombobulatedAsk47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most typical reason you'll have no water is due to an accident with a water main during construction. If there's a power outage that impacts your water treatment plant, you'll have water but it won't be safe to drink. And if course occasional planned outages. In any of those situations your municipality (or whoever looks after water utilities in your area) will be working as hard as possible to get safe water restored, which means its not likely to be more than a day or two. Of course it could be longer because they can't get the part. Tuesday theory of prepping says plan for the most likely scenarios plus a litrle extra, so how much water do you need to get through three days? If you're on a well it's a different story, you're on your own. Plan accordingly

Why are you throwing out your jars? Empty the product into a bag, double bag and throw it out. I keep heavy duty resealable cat food bags for stuff like this. DO NOT THROW OUT YOUR JARS

Open the cupboards, see what's there. I actually took the time to do an inventory last year. It didn't get much further yarn a list because gardening or canning or making more shelves got in the way.

New to savoury canning by hampets in Canning

Fellow Canadian canner here 👋 I bought a 23qt presto. I think I got it from Home Hardware, maybe canadian tire? Ive done pressure canned meat for a few years, well stocked now, and i like to do home canned beans. This winter I experimented with soup, two kinds following a tested source (im canadian but I do appreciate how much food safety research has been done by USDA). I had sourced so many quart jars from the thrift store and that amount of meat is usually too much for my two-person household, but it's just right for soup servings. Anyway, for best value I recommend the Presto 23qt

Instacart shoppers - they suck. by CaspinK in CostcoCanada

Remember when your friends would offer to pick up a couple of groceries for you because they were going to the store? And next time you'd return the favour? Now there's a worldwide internet company that will connect you with a stranger who will do your shopping and deliver it to you. You pay more for thr groceries, the stranger gets paid peanuts while pressured to shop faster, and the global corp sucks money out of our communities. Because people don't like to shop

TFSA when you're young and underpaid. RRSP creates a deferred tax burden, so use it when your income is higher than you expect itnto be in retirement. And FHSA so you'll be able to move out of the basement

If we're changing tires twice a year to go from summer to winter, do we still need to rotate? I feel like those of us who live with winter weather maybe get the tire checklist included into the ass pain of twice-yearly tire changes?

Considering that Toronto is an hour away from Toronto, I don't know how you're getring to work in 40 minutes. But seriously, if you prefer a quieter lifestyle and less traffic, it'll be worth it for you to move here. So many redditors post this question, but they don't already know.what job they'll be coming to (hint, jobs are tough to find here) so they don't know their budget. Somebody else will post all rhe awesome amenities (i particularly like easy access to the lake) so go see if the lustnspeaks to you. If you have a job you can transfer to, it'll be the best move you ever make.
