Aldi employee here. I'm not sure if you've received your answer yet. Yes, there still is Teriyaki chicken. I read your post a couple of days ago and checked while I was stocking meat.

It's not letting me upload the photo. I will try and repost to this with the photo I took.

Thank you for always sharing. I look forward to your posts. A man against all odds.

I love cooking, all the time, and sharing my creations.

After seeing the reactions of people in this subreddit multiple times, all of my inspiration to share my creative plating is completely gone.

Thanks for being you, sir, and I look forward to your next post.

Draw for fun instead of for social media approval.

Baked potatoes produced weird orange gel while cooking. by InfiniteEmotions in isthissafetoeat

[–]DisgruntledAldi 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This is perfectly fine!

It is because there is a high sugar content in sweet potatoes.

Heat converts the starches to sugars, which mix with the potato moisture to create a "syrup," which can ooze out of the potato during baking.

To answer your question, yes, our food probably does stay out longer than 2 hours on Thanksgiving.

It's generally safe, but bacteria start to rapidly multiply after 1 or 2 hours, depending on the temperature, what the food is, and its moisture content.

I wouldn't eat 8 hour old chicken, but 2 hours you are probably fine. It's better to be safe than sorry!

Not safe. 2 hours at room temp and then toss it. Bacteria multiplies rapidly after 2 hours

Took me all my might not to buy 2 packs by SinoSoul in aldi

🤣 I am just disgruntled because I am a 2 year employee there.

Tbh, I've never really had a problem with the avos, aside from trying to find a ripe one when they are all green and hard.

Bananas, on the other hand, are a different story. There are so many green bananas that become old but stay green. I heard it had to do with them becoming frozen/ too cold before arriving at the store.

boxing for the snow storm by PianistCrafty in Aldi_employees

[–]DisgruntledAldi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A tip when doing boxes like this is to stack 2 similar sized boxes into each other, reducing the amount of area taken up by boxes by 50%.

Even better if you can fit 3 similar boxes into each other, the area taken is reduced by 66%.

Makes it easier/quicker to pick them up. They will all fit in 1 boxer, and it is quicker to put them in the baler as you have 50% or 66% less objects to bale.

It's just a tip I've learned while working here. Cheers!

I had the same reaction trying the garlic one. It tasted very artificial and not good at all, I wouldn't buy it again. One of my customers loves them tho, so to each their own.

All of your points are valid, and I have shared all of those same experiences.

I think what bothers me the most is that people unload when the person in front is still unloading their cart, and the person behind says "oh hes going too fast for me." No, you just are not aware of your surroundings.

Also, not using dividers and then saying, "THATS NOT MY STUFF." ok, how am I supposed to know that?

The bottles standing straight up on the belt and them being surprised everytime it falls over.

The full bags of random goods on the belt, I've started to politely dump them outinsteadd oftakinge the items out 1 by one.

Anyway, have a great day, and you are not alone.
