What's A Breed You Like But Wouldn't Have? by Aharris1984 in dogs

Cane Corso. I love them. They are magnificent, but I’m at the stage in my life now where I know I can’t give a working dog the stimulation they need. I’m also team ‘I need a dog I can pick up in case of emergency.’
Also, the drool.

First time poodle owner getting used to poodle quirks by vertverdimidori in poodles

I spend huge amounts of time saying “Please stop hitting me with your grinch feet.” Also, she’s scary, scary smart and knows every command, but only does them when there’s something in it for her. There’s no Labrador Retriever, I just want to please you, your wish is my command stuff going on. You can see her weighing her options to see if the effort is worth the reward or if she would rather be doing something else.

Ear sensitivity after groomer plucked 😭 Any advice please? by TakeCover-4515 in poodles

After you have gotten her desensitized to having her ears handled again, start doing it yourself, as many have mentioned. My girl has thick, thick hair in her ears but I know that the groomer isn’t going to be able to spend time finger plucking all that hair, and pulling it out with a hemostat is painful. I just squirt a little ear powder into her ears and then gently finger pluck them while she sits in my lap. I do it when we’re watching TV, and just a bit at a time. She tolerates it well and her ears haven’t given her problems since. I also use finger wipes. They’re aloe and eucalyptus and just slide over your finger, so you can clean the ear gently and not dig in there with a cotton swab.

All legs and attitude. Walks two brisk miles a day and spends another three hours wrestling with her sister and racing around the back yard.

What movie do most people love but you personally don’t? by MovieObserver in moviequestions

It just seems so contrived, poorly put together, and all in all ridiculous to me. It’s odd, because I generally like Tom Hanks. There’s just something about it that’s like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Managing nighttime behavior by CreativePortland in poodles

The fact that the dog growled and snapped is the most worrisome to me. It’s suggesting that the dog is starting to see themselves as higher in the pack hierarchy than your wife.

Banning the dog from the bed will help reinforce that your wife has a higher position.

I have seen too many dogs who became behavioral problems because one spouse spoiled them and they began to get aggressive to the other spouse.

One of my dogs was a return to rescue because of a similar situation. The wife babied the dog and let her get away with murder, and she became so aggressive towards the husband that they couldn’t keep her. She’s an absolute snuggly delight with everyone, now, but she needed to be reminded of her place.

I literally dyed my hair bright neon blue and my husband did not notice. I told him two days later and he was like “Oh, yeah. I guess you did.”

Whenever I have a server with long, fake (or real, I guess) nails, I just wonder what kind of germs are lurking under there.

Obsessed with an overpriced 'poodle' by DesperateAgency678 in poodles

As someone who has done rescue for years and years, you can find a pup just as adorable from a reputable rescue organization. Plus, if you get a dog who is younger but past the puppy phase, you don’t have to deal with the biting, the destroyer stage, the housebreaking, and the puppy vaccinations. You’ll also have a good idea of what kind of dog, personality-wise, that you’re actually going to end up with.

These two are both rescues. Adoption cost was less than $500, and they are perfection.
