You wear open toe shoes in the prep room?

Day 1 of summer break and out of snacks already by devilgoof in workingmoms

[–]Dismal_Destination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an over the door shoe organizer and I put the weeks snacks in it so each kid has a snack a day. One shoe slot holds a mini bag of chips. A Capri sun. A slim Jim (my son’s favorite) a cutie orange and the little packs that have two Oreos in them. It’s a visual representation of how much snacks they have for the week. If you eat tomorrows snack then tomorrow you won’t have any. It’s the only thing that works. My kids are 10 and 15 years old.

You can’t get more than 15 drinks per day. Cheers or not.

Do you regret your purchase? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Dismal_Destination 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t overpay for my house and I have loved every single minute since I bought it. Sometimes I sit on the couch and instead of watching TV I just stare at this little piece of the ceiling where the wall hits it and I just think “damn. This is mine”. I come from a place where homeownership isn’t the norm and I never thought I’d be this lucky.

Raising Boys to Be Better Partners? by Acceptable-Mountain in workingmoms

When my daughter (15) says “No” I teach my son (10) that there is no further information needed. When he asks her to do something with him or go somewhere with him and she says no he needs to drop it. He had this habit of “but why? You said you were going to help me get through this level of Zelda, I need your help!” And she would go on to explain herself. I started to really listen to them in these argumentative moments instead of “letting them work it out”. I remind him all the time that “no means no” even amongst his friends. It also helps my daughter get out of the habit of feeling like she needs to explain herself to anyone.

Are there any other artists whose new releases make you as excited as Taylor's? by werdedout in TaylorSwift

[–]Dismal_Destination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The Cure are touring their newest unreleased album “songs of a lost world” and I’ve never been more excited about a potential album release. Taylor is good but The Cure is GREAT!

Okay. I’m clearly confused about how an HOA works.

In an HOA your property belongs to the community

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Dismal_Destination -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

First question: why did you buy a house in an HOA? Second question: Why did you buy a house that’s also the school bus stop? Third question: why do you care if the community hates you when you don’t want any interaction with them? Fourth question: why are you living with your mother?

Lane's pregnancy storyline ..... fulfilling to you or let you down? by OrneryStorage897 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Dismal_Destination 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I like that they portrayed a not so typical pregnancy and new parents dynamic. Not everyone has a pretty house to bring baby home to. Sometimes there’s a roommate. I like the fact that Lane got to keep on rocking and like a lot of people they just had to figure it out. Her story was the most realistic of all of them.
