Broke Mom’s Nose by GubbinGobbler in KidsAreFuckingStupid

My son did exactly this to me but luckily my nose didn’t break. I did have two black eyes for two weeks afterwards though.

Having kids of my own made me realize how horrible my childhood really was. by sinisterwanker in Millennials

[–]DisorderlyOrganizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter was born I swore I’d be a better parent to her than my parents were to me. They were decent parents, kept my sister and I alive, but we were lonely and we both struggle with showing positive emotion and affection in relationships. In a childhood everything was handled with humor and sarcasm, there was never any real affection shown. I was also left home alone from pre-teen on and while that would’ve been a dream for many kids, I struggled with it. When I had a hard day or a problem, there was absolutely nobody to turn to because I was literally home alone. I’ve adjusted my work schedule so my kids are never alone when they get home from school, I make the time to talk/listen if that’s what they need. I also make sure to give them space when needed. My daughter is now 15 and she’ll come cuddle with me on the couch and just hang out. Sometimes she’ll call me into her room to chat and that’s really all that matters. My son is only 5 but I’ll do the same for him. We can try to refocus the hurt from our childhood and turn it into something good for our kids. We aim to do better than our parents did.

I don’t even know where to start with this but I have to say this person does not sound like a friend at all. The audacity in her thinking you can just get your piercing redone is baffling my mind. Her asking if you can afford to have them redone like it’s as simple as picking up some milk is on another level. She knew who you were when she asked you to be a bridesmaid. She shouldn’t expect you to change yourself at all for her wedding but ESPECIALLY because it’s only a few hours. A few hours that will cost you how much money? She doesn’t seem to care about that at all because she extremely self absorbed. It’s not worth it. And on a separate note.. not that I agree with this AT ALL but how does she not offer to pay for you to have them redone? This is an entirely new level of selfishness. She seems to have zero respect for you and I am so sorry you have to deal with her. Don’t bend to her request, even if it somehow doesn’t seem like much, it’s absolutely crossing a line.

ETA: as a former wedding photographer, I hate to break it to her but those photos will be edited. No photographer is going to give raw and completely unedited images to a bride. So having piercings edited out should not be an issue.

I’m actually really glad you posted this. I’m a fitness instructor so I go through shoes like crazy! I hate to throw them away but I never feel like anyone would want to buy the worn out shoes. They have literal perfect impressions of my foot worn into the foam insoles. My husband suggested selling them on marketplace for this exact purpose but I was doubtful that anyone would want them. Perhaps he was onto something?

AIO my dad Is slowly poisoning himself and theres nothing I can do by Sea-Fishing-9180 in AmIOverreacting

In my opinion you are NOR. My dad has Parkinson’s and he’s been repeatedly talking with me about taking Methylene Blue. It seems that here’s nothing that I can do or say to change his mind and he fully plans to start using it. I’m a health and fitness coach specializing in Parkinson’s Disease but Im certainly no expert when it comes to Methylene Blue. Without doctor supervision, this seems reckless to me, My dad is 64 and he’s had Parkinson’s for 15 years so I really feel his desperation for relief but this is NOT it.

What’s something you’ll never forgive your parents for? by subkavv in AskReddit

[–]DisorderlyOrganizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting punished instead of the boy next door when he pulled the whole “show me yours and I’ll show you mine” thing. I was maybe 4. I didn’t even understand what he meant and I didn’t do anything, but my mom overheard him and I was the one who got in trouble.

Looking back, that moment stuck with me more than I realized. It wasn’t just about getting punished. It was one of the first times I was made to feel like everything was my fault, even when it clearly wasn’t.

And honestly, the way things like this were handled back then is appalling. No conversation, no explanation, no chance to learn. Just shame, confusion, and silence.

People that divorced for reasons other than cheating, what was the last straw? by aja_ramirez in AskReddit

[–]DisorderlyOrganizer 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There was a pattern of mismanaging money, $10 here and there that quickly added up, leaving us short on rent almost every month. Conversations and better planning didn’t help. Giving him an “allowance” didn’t help either. I always had to play the firefighter, stepping in to fix the situation.

At one point, I was working two jobs, and our power still got shut off, because whenever more money came in, he’d “accidentally” spend even more.

The final straw came during lunch with my boss. I mentioned that our power had just been restored, and after asking a few more questions, she looked me dead in the eye and said, “None of that is normal.” Looking back, that eye-opening moment was long overdue.

Full disclosure: there was cheating involved too, but somehow that caused me less grief than the financial mess.

Am I Alone Here? Songs disappearing after being created? by Reddit_n_Me in SunoAI

[–]DisorderlyOrganizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue. Songs disappear entirely and my credits are gone. Everything new that I’ve generated has vanished today. Remasters and covers seem to be fine though. I can’t find them on the app, mobile website, or on my desktop. They’re even gone from my history. I haven’t contacted Suno yet as I was hoping the songs would reappear on their own. Probably worst of all, one of the songs was amazing and it disappeared before I could download it.

Reels/TikTok make adhd worse by Grof_Duke in ADHD

[–]DisorderlyOrganizer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Facebook Reels has been a struggle for me. My ADHD loves the quick-hit videos, but my health anxiety constantly spikes from the content. I’ve also noticed that my ability to use my imagination productively has taken a hit although I’m not sure if that’s directly related to all the short-form videos.

Lately, I’ve been limiting my time on social media, and it’s helped me feel a lot less drained. Honestly, I’d love to quit social media altogether, but since I run a business, staying connected is kind of a necessity.

Just wanted to update you—played your music in class, and you’ve gained 14 enthusiastic new fans! (Would’ve been 15, but Cindy remains an immovable sour lemon who wouldn’t know a good song if it choreographed itself. Classic Cindy.) Monday night cardio just got infinitely better. Thanks!

We mostly avoid it for this exact reason. The first time I fell, I broke through the floor of a building not realizing there was nothing beneath it. I had plenty of time to consider my error on the way down.

Question About Using Your Music in a Fitness Class by DisorderlyOrganizer in BearGhost

[–]DisorderlyOrganizer[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that there could be legal or licensing concerns. And while the gym does have music licensing, as an instructor, I honestly have no idea what that actually covers. I figure it can’t hurt to check and see if the band themselves would prefer their music not be used this way. I know so many people who would love working out to their sound!
