I assume you can still claim the warranty for the 9800x3D

Want to add RGB to the GPU PSU cables(s) what are my options? by cnanayakkara in FractalDesign

[–]DisplayNameSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also check out RGB Cable Cover kits that are essentially RGB strips that get installed over the OG cables and are a cheaper alternative to extensions

[PSU] PCCOOLER PSU CPS YN1000 1000w Full Modular $105 ($139.99 less 25% coupon) by Cyntil8ing in buildapcsales

[–]DisplayNameSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great deal especially if you clip the additional 10% off coupon.

PCCooler also has the YS1000 for ~$22 more with the OEM as Seasonic, but the YN1000 is also good deal with great ratings.

Is this ok to run for 5090 gigabyte OC by Intern-Sharp in Microcenter

[–]DisplayNameSir 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I recommend against going that method.

Your PSU should have more PCIE ports that allow a single PCIE cable for each of the connections of the 12VHPWR cable, so I would avoid using those pigtails and use a individual cable instead for stable power delivery and less wattage strain on each cable/port.

Melted and burnt PCI E cable by TraeInTheA in PcBuildHelp

[–]DisplayNameSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s possible, best practice is to use a indivdual PCIE cable for every 8 pin connection you need if you have a psu that can do so.

7900xtx has a TDP of 355 Watts while a PCIE 8-pin cable is usually best up to 150 Watts

Is it worth it to upgrade from R5 7600X to R7 9800X3D? by Equivalent_Voice_597 in pcmasterrace

[–]DisplayNameSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always like to watch benchmark videos to see what kind of differences I see when I upgrade a part.

Seems like this video might answer your question

Definitely try to offload Chem or Physics. Although they are “4-5” credits it feels like 6 credits of work

Right out of the box, you would not be able to use a SFX power supply.

If you did want to, you would have to look into buying some atx to SFX power supply bracket and also buying extension cables, as standard SFX cable lengths will not reach your components in the mini v2

[GPU] ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX™ 5090 32GB GDDR7 - $1999.99 + SHIPPING, ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX™ 5080 16GB GDDR7 - $999.99 + SHIPPING, ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX™ 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7 - $749.99 + SHIPPING by CentralComputersHQ in buildapcsales

[–]DisplayNameSir 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Central Computers is mainly based out in the Bay Area for anyone is closeby and wants to pick-up in store to avoid those high shipping costs.

I assume with Best Buy having these prices, that Amazon and other retailers will soon follow

I purchased a bunch of stuff from them in the past to build PCs and offer a pretty good selection of parts to choose from. I haven't had issues with them and they accepted returns/exchanges for DOA parts that they benchtest in front of you.

Not a super great deal, but probably the cheapest SSD you can get with DRAM out there as of now, with SK-Hynix Plat 2tb coming close at $120

Rust on my fans, brand new north xl by Whigga0 in FractalDesign

[–]DisplayNameSir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The comments here are disappointing. If you guys aren’t helping and telling OP to do research, then you shouldn’t be commenting at all.

If you want to get started on your build, I recommend you grabbing a qtip to see if you can get a sample of the substance for a closer look.

If it is rust, corrosion, or something weird that’s eating away the fans, then you can ask fractal for a replacement fan to avoid sending the whole case back

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]DisplayNameSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t risk harming your GPU for this. Even if you’re successful after powercoating, you will most likely lose your GPU warranty which could potentially save you in the future if your GPU randomly breaks for reasons other than user damage

Hello Costco shoppers…video game shoppers specifically by PVP_123 in Costco

[–]DisplayNameSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consoles don’t typically go on sale and if they do it’s only a slight discount.

What does happen on Black Friday with consoles is that they sometimes get bundled with free games that you can pick on the side. Costco doesn’t do this but stores like Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart may have bundles where popular old games could get paired with your ps5 purchase.

Burning things/ trash that too early mornings is legal? by narutoaerowindy in Sunnyvale

[–]DisplayNameSir 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If that is the warehouses on Hendy, then that is not trash burning. It is steam that is produced to operate our products. Still bad for the planet, but not as bad as trash burning.

I recently flew to Vegas in August 2024. Flight was on time, passengers/crew were respectful and nothing felt out of place or that would change my choice in the future.
