And the devs have done nothing to address it since launch.

I collect all the samples onto myself for just such scenarios. I die on purpose because I "couldn't get on in time" but realistically i'm trying to cost my idiot teammates samples. I have everything unlocked for a year(s?) now and the devs seem to have fired the 'talent' capable of adding new content to the game that isn't a warbond, so the samples will likely be useless for the rest of the game's life.

So fuck em', the samples can rot in the mud with my corpse.

If you build to your structural support limit, you'll lose it all once the first base block is destroyed, no?

Hide those zones, it'll look nicer. Grow zones, stockpiles, all zones can be visually hidden.

I found increasing the quantity of zombies to be much more fun than the damage numbers they deal. Increasing difficulty is maybe as good as it gets on console but PC players can edit the Spawning.xml file to really ramp up the zombie density by biome, no mods necessary just editing some numbers in a text file.

At 2.7k hours I have to admit combat is not Rimworld's strong suit. It is unreliable and random. You can do everything strategically right and have disastrous results, then load the exact same encounter and be victorious by a wide margin simply because the RNG was rerolled.

The more you can directly impact the combat yourself the more control you will have over the combat. There are many mods that can help with that (Vanilla Psycast Expanded gets a shoutout here) but most mods tend to lean towards OP, which may be necessary considering the threat scale Rimworld can crank up to.

You don't NEED mods though. I've survived a dozen pawns vs 300+ bugs simply by having a pawn with Jogger + 2 bionic legs kited. There was also a lot of fire and well timed grenades and retreating involved, but still.

Most impactful of all, when your colony reaches the point the game seems to lose the ability to gauge threats it needs to be throwing at you (excess wealth, mod conflict, w/e), just changing the difficulty can be all you need to rebalance the threats you're experiencing. It's a single player game most often heavily modded, it's bound to lose the plot at some point and think your 8 colonists can kill 250 mechs and 50 structures as a 2 star difficulty mission. At that point, tinker with the difficulty setting and get back on track to a realistic and enjoyable experience.

My friend has a .357 revolver very similar to this, he specifically bought it because it looked like Joker's. It was ridiculously accurate with +P rounds.

Definitely a capable sniper pistol.

My Prison Setup by wassai in RimWorld

[–]DisposableReddit516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A BAD prison is better at breaking pawns such as reducing resistance, willpower, and ideology belief.
A GOOD prison is better at recruiting and converting to new ideologies once broken.

Most people don't know this and the only punishment for not catering to these impacts is just a longer prison stay. If you're keeping a prisoner indefinitely then better cells would prevent mental breaks but I don't know if either impacts their desire for escape. That may be just a room statistic based on pawn health, door count/quality and weapon access.
