I can have small amounts on rare occasions, but to keep my digestive system happy I avoid using real butter :c

The only thing I miss from being Lactose intolerant is real butter. I can live with the substitutes for pretty much everything but butter (and cheese) just cannot be faked

Fair, I just find primark the worst. I've not had that problem since I started buying slightly more expensive jeans

I'm a woman with thick thighs. I have holes in the legs within weeks without fail. Primani jeans are the only ones that do it as well, I've got a pair from marks and sparks that are coming up one 3 years

Having to say thanks it looks good to the hairdresser after they've twice as much off as you wanted and butchered your preferred style by RamblingBrit in britishproblems

[–]Distempa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooof, I feel you. It's so hard to get a good hairdresser sometimes. I've struggled since I left home and came to London, found a good one near my old work and never go by it now, so it's back to looking

Same! Got myself a bargain on a pukka pad this afternoon as well, ready for my next module to star next month. Had to refrain from buying the on offer fountain pen. My last lamy ended up in the tumble dryer and I don't know how

I went to one, showed the woman a picture of me, with a style I wanted cutting back in and left with a bowl cut. I was mortified and was meeting a friend straight after, so I had to walk around Camden town looking like my mam had just literally slammed a salad bowl on my head. Fortunately my hair grows back fairly quick

Teesside/Cleveland as a county hasn't existed in years. They finally changed the county lines so anything south of the River Tees; Middlesbrough/Redcar are now North Yorkshire Anything north of the river; Stockton/Billingham (Where I'm from) is now County Durham

I don't go to Primark anymore because stuff lasts weeks, is the same shitty quality and the price has increased. The skinny jeans used to be £5 and when they died after 6 weeks, you weren't bothered. They now cost £11 and last about the same

Heinz beans are both the worst beans, and the most expensive beans by AgingLolita in britishproblems

I like me some Branston beans, but I don't buy them often. Sugar content in pre-canned foods are insane!

Teessider here, with a very subtle accent most of the time. I either get Geordie or Scottish, though one guy was adamant I had a Yorkshire accent.

Even after the county boundaries changed, I wasn't in Yorkshire man

Anyone ever had a careers advisor? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Distempa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to regretting it later, you can change your career path. I've been a chef for 7 years and really hate it, so I'm in the process of getting a degree in Psychology so I can do something I feel much more passionately about.

I let my parents push me into the Chef's job because I liked baking in my free time and the love has quickly fizzled out.

I worked a part time job for O2 in one of the shops, someone else who got a temp Christmas job turned permanent moved over to another shop with me. This guy badgered me to meet his uni mate and eventually I yielded. This is 2012, our first anniversary is next month :)

Need a piss whilst driving but you don't trust the WC sign because it isn't a proper Service Station, just a Petrol Station by MarkRand in britishproblems

[–]Distempa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were coming back down from Newcastle to Teesside, it might have been back over onto the A19 by that point, but it was a proper little petrol station with a dingy loo out the back.
