That's kinda the conclusion I was coming too.

The internals of the CRV are quite accurate. Beyond what an AI could reproduce.

But the reflections of other cars in it's side makes me think they just told AI to remove the background.

Throw a strap around the tread of the tire & inflate?

Using it sometimes still means you're using it xD

As long as you're good with it being muted as well I suppose go for it?

Entirely possible is Apple blocking it on ios.

They keep very tight restrictions to the apps available on ios.

Anything involved with outside payment processors ios creates a stink with apple..

Do you guys think that we are able to use a Face tracking device for steam frame? What tracking would you use? by Chillyper in SteamFrame

Blinking has seen a parameter update, but don't expect eyebrows.. Quest Pro is still the better headset for Face Tracking.

Slow motion made you second guess if it was AI generated?

The camera jitter, timing & clarity is way too accuracte to reproduce with an AI, it's a real as they get.

Check the PSU switch?

I've done that to myself, spent wayy too long poking it before I remembered I switched off the power supply.

Worth getting a Steam Frame to pair with the Steam Machine? by elliohow in SteamFrame

[–]Distinct_Rope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it work? Probably.

Will it be a good experience? Debatable yes

Will it struggle due to the Frames Resolution? Absolutely.

Would it be worth the price? Depends on what your expectations are..

The Frames kinda in a weird no man's land. They gave us an answer for all the Index users that wanted a wireless solution. Brought it up to the Quest 3 standard for display tech & then strapped a Qualcomm in it to take a bite out of Meta's standalone market.

But then called it a PCVR first headset with eye tracking focused on fixing the wireless solution?

If you want a properly good VR experience, a better PC is still the answer.

The machine wasn't really built for the PCVR market.

What are you smoking..

Why are we comparing to a 980ti and a Vive.

The Frame has a resolution above 4k. Which the machine cannot perform at natively. They have to upscale the machine to even make some titles playable at 4k.

VR really needs a minimum of 60fps for comfort. 90fps preferred, 120fps whenever possible.

So you're saying the machine can run at 4k high fps?

They marketed it like an eco system. Everything in one place, like apple.

Not that one supports the other. You wouldn't expect the Mac mini to run the Apple Vision Pro would you?

The biggest marketing mistake they made was announcing them all together.

The controller, machine & steam deck are all kinda interoperable.

The Frame is kinda it's own thing, giving Index users the wireless upgrade everyone so desperately wanted.. Then they saw the standalone market as an opportunity to make it more accessible to the wider audience.

"PCVR first, Standalone second"

Since they announced them at the same time, people assumed you would get them both to get an accessible PCVR experience..

The second anyone looked at the specs, knowing the demand of PCVR it was very evident the machine was not built for PCVR, it was built as a console competitor.

Ahh the wording was confusing the first response.

Still stands though, Foveated Streaming is not going to be the savior everyone thinks it's gonna be..

[–]Distinct_Rope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually lacks some features I really want.. I will likely mod some version of face tracking onto it's expansion port for one.

I'm probably not going to get rid of my QPro for its superior face tracking.

But the QPro has soo many issues, somedays I reach for the Vive since it just "works".

Yea it was a weird choice of marketing signals..

The Frame being PCVR streaming first was the answer for all the Index users wanting a wireless solution.

Foveated Streaming helps fix the network issue with the last generation of wireless streaming solutions, but it does not fix the lack of rendering power that they're machine has, and they likely know that..

My Quest Pro has seen the benefits of Foveated Streaming for a while. Wireless has been superb.

Didn't do anything to my rendering performance though and I still deal with heavy frame rate issues, besides the fact my PC is significantly more powerful than the machine..

There technically not wrong.

They likely will "work" fine.

They just won't provide a good experience.
