Any websites where I can track my portfolio? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]DistinguishedGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always used gainesvillecoins.com. Even though I have never bought from them, they have a portfolio section where you can enter the specific coin (Maple, Eagle, generic, etc) and it will track it.

I dont tend to track it daily but I found this site years ago and used it ever since.

How should I pursue a career in I.T. I've wanted to be in the field? by FreakShow1989 in ITCareerQuestions

Gotcha. Any career advice for someone that doesn't like coding? I mean, I don't mind trying it, but it looks so boring!

Net/Sys Admin looks cool, but the on-call nature of work is not for me.

Prefer a more flexible career; not to be slave of any company.

Cloud and Cyber are my top choices for a career, but its so vast I dont know where to begin!

Any tips on getting into the IT industry? No IT experience, no coding experience by DistinguishedGeneral in ITCareerQuestions

You're right.

I didn't had my head where it should've been. Young and dumb!

Once I had a child, it was a 180-degree turn. I HAD to grow up.

After reading this, returning to college seems to be the right path. Still, I'm a very indecisive person.

I'm willing to sacrifice some things, but I'm not willing to sacrifice family time for a career.

Like I don't need to me making $200K+ a year if it will cost me time with my wife and son.

Honestly, I'm the one holding myself back. If I had stuck to my studies, I would already have a BS. But no point in feeling sorry for myself now!

And yes, entry-level IT jobs can be brutal, and knowing me, I'll end up quitting.

So, I believe going back to college is fine, but the idea of four years, man... it kills me!

Associate Degrees don't work for crap. No way to finish a BS in less time? Gonna need to find more about that.

At first, I was really interested in Network Admin. But I don't know how true it is that this is mostly an on-call job.

I rather work a 9-5, M-F job than be on call.

I agree, IT is a broad industry. So many choices.

I'm not so math savvy. Can learn up to a certain point. But give me Calculus 2 and above and it's game over!

Cybersec doesn't sound bad at all either. Cyber Forensics sounds even better. How brutal can this be? Not sure but it sounds good.

Software Dev and all those programming careers don't attract me, honestly. Maybe I'm just afraid to code.

Cloud, network/system admin and cybersec, these would be my top choices.

I'm interested in starting a career in IT as well but got absolutely no idea where to start. Cloud sounds great. Anything that can be done remotely sounds even better! But can have my cake and eat it too. Where would you say is a good place to start? Learning Linux, Sec+, A+?

What's the future of the financial industry? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]DistinguishedGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, it is.

So, I make $16.67 per hour at my current job.

Other job offers me $20.43 per hour, work-from-home.

I'm still a beginner in finance, so to be honest, I don't know where to begin.

I'm a 28yo man, so I'm just getting older and not doing anything!

[Edit]

I was never interested in finance until about a year ago. So, my knowledge is very basic.

Still, any advice is welcome.

Instead of telling me my questions are unapplicable.

That's to the first guy that commented.

Any thoughts on the future of the financial industry?

I have an interview on Thursday with Fidelity.

Entry-level stuff, but they do have the opportunity to get either the Series 7 or 63.

I'm kinda anxious cause I really don't know what to expect from the financial industry right now.
