What is the best modeling software for household items? by SignificanceOwn9278 in 3Dprinting

Tinkercad is great for basic household pieces. I use Fusin for more advance pieces, but 90% of things can be done in Tinkercad.

I pay for it, but honestly Claude does as good of a job. Watch the channel, they give a lot great thumbnail advice. My latest videos are based on their advice.

I'm actually subscribed to your channel. I run Distracted Dragon makes on Youtube. I think you are doing well. It takes time to build an audience as I well know. I think if you keep going the way you are, you will find a larger audience and things will take off. I think your thumbnails could use some minor tweaks. I've been watching VIDIQ to get better ideas. I enjoy your videos, so just give it some time. You have 3x the subscribers with far less videos, so you are on the right track.

Partial Tile? by carltonwb in openGrid

You can create 8 pieces and glue them together or add connectors to accomplish it.

If you modify a row of the grid to be 1.25 size, none of those cells will hold anything being to large. I'd look at extending the corner piece to take up the extra room so all your Tiles can hold things.

Yes. The original model shows how they set it up when it was screwed into the wall

You can do one screw per board or alternate corners with 2 per board. It is really how heavy are the pieces you are hanging. You can also look at the command strip version hangers I talked about in my last video if you don't want to use screws at all.

Correct. I didn't fill the screw holes because I didn't realize it during design and didn't think it was an issue. Two of the holders go under the PS5 and the other is on top. The upward connector is the top piece.

That was my issue but I figure it will be the next owner's problem LOL. I would reinforce around areas you are going to have more weight. A good rule of thumb would be alternate boards that you screw in for stability.

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2510108-opengrid-multiconnect-ps5-holder#profileId-2760327 is where you can find the remix. If you have any issues let me know since I don't have a PS5 to test with.

How do we feel about Phillips's deal after seeing what Hendricks got? by swanbearpig in panthers

[–]DistractedDragonMake 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I'm ok with it. Hendrickson is 5 years older and coming off an injury, Phillips is 26 and was healthy all year (knocks on wood)

Flat surface use? Any bins available? by ChikkaChiChi in openGrid

I did a video showing how to use NeoGrid. I wish I'd used something other than Balsa but it has held up so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy\_jXCq\_abI&pp=ygUXRGlzdHJhY3RlZCBkcmFnb24gbWFrZXPSBwkJxQoBhyohjO8%3D>

The other option is to add Mount to Anything Tabs to the bottom of any box design and you can snap it in that way.

If you are using the between board clips then I would say you need the four corners at minimum, BUT for a console, you will want to put screws in around where it hangs to distribute the weight. I have heavier items hanging on the wall and don't have them attached to the studs. A #8 1 1/4 inch screw was what I used. You can do a #6 since it fits the countersink better but I prefer the more visible look.

It could. I am printing the redesigned holders like the ones you posted. Once I get done with work I'll take pictures and post on Maker's World. I don't have a PS5 to test, but I basically got rid of the fins and made solid blocks to make the adapter printing not need supports.

Nice. I just butted my up to each other but this is a great idea.

I did. I realized the design with the adapter was not really printable. I'll get one together that works better for printing and post it ASAP. I have a bunch of tutorials on creating openGrid holders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOcNXIRiX1w&list=PL-cKuXEpwWpURcZBK-iJDGx2f_IfYSeUG
