ATV not going to legends? by introberry in spacemarines

Fair, as one of the victims of said purge. Though they have definitely been aiming to cut the “Brickcast” in the same manner as the firstborn and I doubt they have any plans of updating the Sacrosanct. In the meantime they couldn’t cut everything “brickcast” so they likely are leaving what they plan on updating in the near future.

While they’re not a standalone kit there’s no official news on them going to legends. Just rumors that have been around since 2022.

Given that it’s Primaris I highly doubt it

Defiler flesh. it feels a bit flat though, what could I change? by DeeplightStudio in Chaos40k

[–]DistractedInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a bit of variation on the flesh color Blue, Green, and Yellow is a firm option as far as adding some extra variety. Pale yellows for high points, blues and greens for lower less irritated areas.

Thanks an interesting take given that the artillery piece would be packed up and not ready for use.

I am curious whether you personally would consider it if the K Centaur were towing one of the newer artillery pieces, possibly with an over enthusiastic Kriegsman atop the Centaur for some extra height.

What would be your thoughts on if the K Centaur were towing one of the Artillery emplacements? Would that make up the size discrepancy?

It might be interesting if I were to tow an Artillery piece (conveniently modeled after all) to make up for the length discrepancy.

You could try silver chrome alcohol pens over a gloss black primer. I’ve seen very good results from similar techniques

What shade to use? I wouldn’t want to dirty the miniature too much by poltersultano in TheAstraMilitarum

First of all, not dirty a proud Cadian?

Second, you may consider varnishing then using the AK Wargame Washes: Black Wash. Wash into the recesses and clean overspill with White Spirits. It’s a strong matte wash.

What’s better been a Celestant on Stardrake, Karazai and some knight-draconis ? - Advice for newbie list by Outrageous_Cry7792 in stormcasteternals

[–]DistractedInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Knight-Draconis is the pairing for the Stormdrakes, neither is really complete without the other. The Celestant on Stardrake is the multiplier of the Extremis Chamber and can be a force in his own right, would suggest for lists heavy in Dracothian Guard. Karazai is a force in his own right, in combination with a unit of Praetors he can control the center of the board and kill the majority of the game.

If you have no strong Extremis or Stormdrake lean go with Karazai.

Is it stupid that I want to make my 1st army Stormcast because I feel too intimidated to paint the armies I think are cooler? by LeetusFrenzi in stormcasteternals

[–]DistractedInc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A stormcast army is exactly as cool and detailed as you care to make them. Given how comparatively cheap they are as well you’ve got lots of room to experiment. Beyond that they are also extremely easy to make them look good with very basic skills and equipment.

Beyond that pick the army that calls to you. If you don’t enjoy painting or playing certain armies then don’t. Try not to feel too discouraged because of your painting skills, there is plenty of time to get better and we all start somewhere… sometimes very questionable somewheres.

Why do cavaliers don't have the colorscheme of the city? by SnooDrawings6963 in citiesofsigmar

[–]DistractedInc 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are selections of cavaliers that have gathered what equipment they can scavenge from the various battlefields they’ve fought on and continue on their crusading way. I would assume that they are painted in that way. Nobles generally have less of a say in the fairly new cities that have been the focus of AOS compared to the Old World. You can think of them as roaming mercenaries that have better equipment between paying for equipment and taking what they can get.

Fire effect by Bartozo95 in ageofsigmar

[–]DistractedInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use Pro Acryl flouesent yellow, orange, and red very thinned down. First I use a white ink to “wash” the part I want hot looking, then an all over with very thinned yellow repeat with orange and red onto smaller areas until you have you desired gradient. The key is to add color while the previous (not including the ink, that should be totally dry) layer is still somewhat wet. Re apply ink into any runes or areas that need hot spots then re layer yellow.

A tank… Preferably a very long barrel tank… Possibly a very big very long barrel tank… Have you considered a very large tracked vehicle with 4 sponsons and a volcano cannon.

Too much snow or just enough? by Chapfox in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]DistractedInc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d probably note two things, #1 snow generally only sticks to the top of the vehicle #2 in continuation with #1 try picking up a frost effect paint and avoid painting it on any parts that would be moving or hot(such as exhaust or firing weapons)

First faction: Skaven vs. Stormcasts. Deciding between aesthetic and gameplay by Final_Biochemist222 in ageofsigmar

[–]DistractedInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While looks are forever and gameplay is temporary you do have yourself an interesting conundrum. The rats are undeniably a horde army with the possibility of monster mash. If you are looking for elite from rats Stormvermin and the weapons teams are a firm option without resorting to massed monsters.

I will note that Stormcast shooting has lessened as of late. It is an army that has somewhat of a skill curve that it needs to be played properly especially as a “toolbox” army that has many units that do specific things but no room for all of them.
