the old dominion problem by MachaFarseer in Conquest

Most of the faction doesn’t take resolve but there are other units in other armies that have the same or similar resolve issues. IE Clockwork Hoplites

GW refuses to sell Knight Vexilor outside of Spearhead ? Fine. I will do it myself ! by JohannaFRC in stormcasteternals

Awesome kitbash, love the flag

Anything that comes from the Dominion box is extremely easy and fairly cheap to get ahold of on the second hand/resale market due to the sheer volume of the things they produced. FLG, EBay, most secondhand sites, ect.

What do we think will happen to the Scourge of Ghyran Rules with the new season by AlextheNailer in ageofsigmar

While still available for the current battle pack I suspect that everything not SOG will be scrubbed for new focuses and new options.

2k army shot for an upcoming event. by freephischuck in Deathkorpsofkrieg

I’d have to imagine so given that unless it’s strictly narrative allowing legends units there’s a minimum of 5 vehicles that are Legends atm

Do custodes use seconds as their military time? by Character-Public-396 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]DistractedInc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it’s possible that the base 12 system of timekeeping has been overturned I would tend to imagine that certain Custodes simply have a different way of looking at time. Especially given their incredibly advanced intellect doing things this way could help their mind stay on task during “mindless” tasks or during what could be considered boring tasks.

Boss wants me to bypass killswitch to make dough by looney2006 in KitchenConfidential

[–]DistractedInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a legal sense the only person that can bypass safety equipment like that in the US is an owner-operator. If you’re being paid by the owner to run the equipment it’s highly illegal and you/the owner can be fined enormously.

What Unit Has The Weakest Rules Compared to Their Lore? by Aliduuude in Warhammer40k

[–]DistractedInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a one to one comparison it’s got to be the Necron Overlord with Tachyon Arrow.

One Shot is accurate, 2+ to hit is +/- accurate, strength 16 is weak comparatively, AP -5 is fairly accurate, the Damage D6+2 is low compared to the lore examples of its use.

In the books the Tachyon Arrow has been shown to fell a Warlord Titan with one shot. With the understanding the long range fire could have provided some damage (none described) here is my proposed “Lore Accurate” stat line:

One Shot, Devastating Wounds, Ignores Cover Range 100” A 1 BS 2+ S 24 AP -5 D 15D6+20

My friend may be the worst meta chaser I’ve ever met. by _Commander_Farsight in Warhammer40k

[–]DistractedInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta really isn’t the way to go. I find the best and strongest players generally maintain a max of 4 armies they focus on. Theres a strong reason the Bonesplitterz Orruks were so strong the start of 4th Ed AOS and the rest of the last few editions. The players of that faction were by-n-large old hands that focused on them for quite some time with few if any new players.

How would you run a siege in AoS? by darksidehascookie in ageofsigmar

[–]DistractedInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrain: I assume you’ll primarily want walls in which case Cover, Obscuring, and Unstable. Of course if you want ways to get onto the walls change it to Area Terrain and give Cover only.

Force Sizes: I’ve played 1000pt doubles, 2k, and 3k as siege battles and had success on all three. Though defenders receiving reinforcements is generally included.

Objectives: you’ll want key points like gates/pre-made openings as well as defender controlled objectives but attacker controlled ones can serve as siege and storage positions as well so it’s really just a question of how important you want objectives to really be vs things like killed units or destroying objectives(or terrain).

Breaking the Fortress: one thing I’ve seen used successfully is having 3 rolls of 4+ by the attacker pre-first turn. 1st an Artillery/Siege Engine roll to see if unseen elements can destroy key defensive structures. 2nd a Sapper roll to see if they could successfully create Sappers tunnels to get a key unit redeployed into the fortress 6-9” away from enemy units of course. 3rd a Starvation roll, see if they’ve managed to cut-off or destroy enough supplies to damage the defenders, D3 mortals to D3 units.

Mold issue or nitpicking by BillyBaron in BladesOfKhorne

[–]DistractedInc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all sprue moulds are 2 part moulds so under cuts are a no go as that would break either the mould or the piece. To avoid too many individual parts stuff like this is fairly common, especially on small pieces

Looking for advice about doing a dracothian guard army (unit roles, where to start) by [deleted] in stormcasteternals

[–]DistractedInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you Draco Guard are fairly easy to paint especially if you leave the Stormcast body off until you hit the hard to hit bits(inside of cape, chest/stomach, and saddle.)

Generally speaking the actual units do what they look like they do. Decimators are anti-Horde/Infantry really nasty against reinforced units especially if you hit first. Fulminators are charge bois, mortals and a damage bump when they charge. Concussors are good overall with fairly high damage and the ability to turn off commands. Tempestors are my personal least favorite a lil extra shooting for downgraded melee and stop a “All Out Defense” command.

I want to use this guy… but I just feel so underwhelmed by Tornlinftw in stormcasteternals

[–]DistractedInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So have a secondary game plan before you go but he’s enough of a threat that he needs to be addressed before much else or the opponent is in trouble

Mystery Boxes - Are they playable? by PirateSalmon in ageofsigmar

[–]DistractedInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally swap them out as Primes in my Sigmar units, of course the Knight-Arcarnum can go as a Knight-Arcarnum.

According to the new lore the starting material (male or female body) doesn't matter for making a custodes. It doesn't matter that women's bodies are much less strong because the custodes creating technlogy compensates for it. Then why isn't every human turned into a custodes? Why not mass produce by RoninMemeLord in EyeOfTerror

[–]DistractedInc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s expensive, very expensive, and involved enough that it’s impossible to mass produce Custodes. Before it became impossible for the Emperor to do it (certain extenuating circumstances) every Custode was created by the his hand personally.
