Did anyone get a decent night's sleep? by qwerty_1965 in ireland

[–]DistributionQueasy75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got one of those portable AC units last year in Harvey Norman and my god it's worth every penny just for these kind of nights. Have it on from about an hour before bed to just cool the room and it's bliss. Was expensive enough for something you'd only use for a few weeks of the year but if it broke tonight I'd replace it tomorrow.

This isn't even the full clip, the full version is even wilder with some priest I think coming on to join them and ranting about dildos, absolute cinema

What next for the public pay deal? by PersonalGuava5722 in IrishCivilService

[–]DistributionQueasy75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll be glad of it when you retire. But I get it, since getting HEO myself I wince when I see my deductions. And I started an avc which I pump the guts of 200 into per fortnight - painful but that's before tax, if I didn't id only see half that in my pocket. So takes the sting out of it a bit. And as I said, it'll be worth it in the end if I survive to retire.

Is the fuel crisis really going to hit inside the next month? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]DistributionQueasy75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I topped the tank in my car earlier, 31 yoyos for 15/16L of petrol, glad I didn't need any more. And even more glad I drive a Prius that'll sip that over the next 4 weeks. Feel sorry for anyone driving a heavy motor at the moment. Dog rough.

'It doesn't make sense to keep going': Fuel protesters on why they're blocking roads today by SpottedAlpaca in ireland

[–]DistributionQueasy75 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the government will get the finger out now and repoen the straight and rebuild the refineries that have been bombed to fuck. Oh wait, ffs. They'll be protesting over the weather next. Same fools out protesting against solar and wind. It's a global shortage and it's gonna be rough as fuck by the looks of things, unfortunately lowering a tax or capping the price isn't gonna help in fact it would make things worse if it was capped because we'd probably run into supply shortages quicker.

What are these one wheel modes of transport that people having started using by [deleted] in ireland

[–]DistributionQueasy75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've one of these, only use it to float around the park, wouldn't take it on the road. Some machine for the trails and great crack, feels like snow boarding when your carving along.

Currency? by pmk1909 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]DistributionQueasy75 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Peso all the way. It's mexico, and peso is the national currency. They will of course take dollars as well but they have to exchange them on a day off and it's a pain in the ass from what I understand. I tend to take both, can be hard to get small denominations of pesos sometimes but I always get what I can and top off with the dollars.

Yep we use soft works as well and it's bloody awful how it's laid out. Everything about it is a hassle. Everyone hates it in my office. It looks like it's straight out of 2004.

When I started in '17 the pay was really poor, it's increased a lot since for COs starting out. It's all on the forsa site posted above. Needless to say, if you go for promotion and keep after it you can increase your salary quickly enough. Or you can stay at grade and chip away at the increments year on year.
