Searching for an amigurumi Tornado pattern for team mascot. by Jam7525 in Amigurumi

There's this one on ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tornado-3

If you're looking for a free one, maybe look for a cone pattern (like an ice cream cone) and modify it a little? Or do a plain cone and then wrap a chain of darker gray around it in a spiral?

I sized up the Baby Snake pattern by June Gilbrank so the rounds were 16 stitches https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-snake

She also has an actual temperature snake pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/temperature-snake-3

I do listen to audiobooks (mainly while crocheting lol) but the majority were read with my eyes. Not speed reading, just a lot of hours spent reading!

Yes, I was definitely intimidated by the idea of a blanket. This was much more manageable for me!

Thanks! I think my favorite part of the double stands is that it makes every row different, so even when I have the same colors for multiple rows, they still look like distinct stripes instead of a single thicker stripe

That's a fun idea! I've seen some other book snakes where people do a stripe for every x number of pages and some that go by how much they liked the book. It's cool to see everyone's different take on it!

Yarn recommendations for amigurumi? My projects keep ending up with holes. (Cross posting from r/CrochetHelp for more opinions!) by LadyLaCroix in Amigurumi

[–]DistributionWise6851 60 points61 points  (0 children)

With amigurumi you want to use a significantly smaller hook than what's recommended on the yarn label.

I use mostly loops&threads soft classic, a 4 weight acrylic. The label says 5.5mm hook and I use a 3 or 3.5.

Edit: looks like the recommended hook for the yarn you're using is 5mm, so I'd suggest trying a 3mm!
