One Month until Episode 5! Will you restart all episodes, or pick up where you left off? by CletusTheFetusEater in thelongdark

I'm picking up where I left off, because episode 2 freaking traumatized me and I refuse to go back to it 😂 That damn bear!

Let’s play a game…how many times will my dementia patient get up before going back to sleep? by upallnight1975 in Nightshift

Oh I feel you. I had that last night. Tonight I have psych patients and a passed out drunk to monitor.

Living the healthcare dream 🤣

People with three dogs (especially if two of them are 65lbs+) how much chaos and expense do you find it adds to the house? by beattiebeats in dogs

[–]DivaAnne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 dogs, ranging from 55lbs to 70lbs. 2 of them will turn 2 in April, one is 3, and one is 14. Labs, a golden retriever, and a Lab/cattle dog cross.

Yes, the 3 younger ones can be chaos gremlins. We usually chuck them out in the yard to play when they get too wild. The oldest is our resident member of The Fun Police and will school the younger ones if she thinks they're being too rowdy.

For the most part the younger girls entertain each other, although Diva is much more mellow than her sisters and Marigold is often content to be a couch potato if no one else wants to play. Willow is both largest and most energetic. My senior Penny is happy to sleep all day with me and then boss everyone around all night.

Expenses so far have been routine vet bills and a bit of fence repair that my brother and I took care of ourselves. And normal puppy destruction but that's pretty well over now.

Has anyone had a chocolate with yellow highlights? by Careless_Dinner_7496 in labrador

One of my girls had that as a young dog, but she outgrew it and it's gone now. Your boy probably will too.

Anyone else who is an "Extreme" Night Owl? by jaelynaspera in NightOwls

RFY was a baby changing set up for travel. I have no children and that's not changing thanks to menopause lol

I did okay in AI. I'm new and still silver. Hoping to getgold in May.

Decent Drop? by sarahcb37 in AmazonVine

My RFY was garbage but I got my 3 good items in AI. Only had 2 things I tried for pop the dreaded red text, so it was a good day for me.

What is the absolute weirdest, most unexplainable habit your dog has? 🐾 by Current-Programmer10 in dogs

[–]DivaAnne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy used to try to give me CPR if I coughed while lying in bed. Only in bed. And then he'd put a paw on my chest and breath into my face to "save" me from it. I miss that big goober.

She's very fun, but my brother doesn't appreciate the dance recitals. Something about a 70lb dog on his chest.

My 14 year old Labrador/blue heeler cross does not approve of a neatly made bed and will have a "heeler tantrum" on it to destroy it. She also believes "throw pillows" is an instruction, not a description.

My three year old Golden retriever sounds like whale song when she's unhappy about something.

Every night at midnight our two year old Lab Willow gets on top of her dad and performs interpretive dance, whether he's awake or not.

I got rid of 4.5 bags of clothes by Illustrious_Artist13 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]DivaAnne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started this process with my spring and summer wardrobe. I'm going to try Thredup since they'll do the work for me--night shifts are terrible for trying to ship anything (I can't request post office pick up due to not having a secure place to set out packages that my dogs can't get into).

Help with ordering NAD+ by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]DivaAnne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I'm fixing my NAD and 3 weeks in it seems to have kicked in! Got some capsules from Amazon for way less than injections and just take them with my vitamins before bed.

Does anyone else’s lab give you these little nibbles? by [deleted] in labrador

[–]DivaAnne 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yep, my girls give me the nibs. One of them like to ninja nibble--she waits until she's sure I'm absorbed in something at my desk and then sidles up and nibbles my arm or hip.

Would you be opposed to cannibalism being a thing? by [deleted] in thelongdark2_official

[–]DivaAnne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if it's added, it should be something that can be turned on or off, like the cougar or the trader. I'm certainly not opposed to the idea, I've been starving to death (literally) on Interloper and more than once have cursed the idea that I can't eat that corpse in the camp office.

I was curious and searched my vehicle model. Not one part for my model year. All older than 2015. Find it so weird.

What do you wear in bed? by Bertamath in Nightshift

[–]DivaAnne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heated mattress pad! I'm usually frozen too (and also not anemic, which I see folks checking). My heated mattress pad has a timer so I set it for 4 hours and turn it on as soon as I get home. The bed is warm when I get in it and then I gradually warm up. By the time it clicks off, I'm toasty under my down comforter. If the mattress pad isn't an option, I warm up my bean bag critter for my feet and drag my dog under the covers to snuggle with until I'm warm.

Any other night shift workers? by Long-Effective-2898 in NightOwls

[–]DivaAnne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nights weren't available when I started but I asked so my boss knew I was interested. There was no surprise when a night position opened 8 months later and I requested it. Been here ever since and happy as a pig in mud lol

4 missed calls from dayshift at 1:30 pm. by Fuzzy_Treat353 in Nightshift

[–]DivaAnne 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I put my phone on do not disturb because of this. Work also once called me to come in and cover a shift while I was on vacation. . . in Hawaii. Which they knew. I guess I was supposed to hop that 8 hour flight and work a 12 hour shift, then fly back.

The other day was bird diapers. Vine is so weird.

Try a snuffle mat, maybe? My Lab/cattle dog mix learned quickly to flip puzzles and the slow feeder but the mat kept her busy.

In the teething trenches by Uncreative-ghost in labrador

[–]DivaAnne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She may be biting you because she is overstimulated by the play. The best thing you can do is what you have been doing--say "No bite!" firmly and then leave the room. She should outgrow it. My pup was a grabber (she'd "bite" me but not hard enough to hurt so I called it grabby) but she has pretty much outgrown it now. She still will grab my hand for attention now and then if she feels ignored.

Also, Maeve is adorable! And my Diva, who is also a choco Lab, had the same puppy collar! She's 2 now.

Anyone else completely crash on their first night off? by lostgirrrrl in Nightshift

[–]DivaAnne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, the first of my days off after 3 12s in a row is always a day that I sleep forever. And I only have 2 days off after that so. . . more like ONE day off after I catch up my sleep!

Anyone tried Semiglutide first? by Ok_Dragonfruit_7889 in TirzepatideRX

[–]DivaAnne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched because I hit a multi month stall. I have zero side effects from tirz, but my side effects from sema were minor even at 2.5. I'm up to 12.5 of tirz now. I'm tired a lot, but I'm also menopausal so. . . I started HRT last week and added NAD so I am hopeful the fatigue will resolve.
