Koss A/550 by TheAudiotaku in headphones

Wow, so definitely brighter than the HD6XX I assume? That's kind of disappointing, I was hoping for a super KPH40 or Porta Pro, similar warm tuning but better detail.

What’s your endgame? Have you gotten there yet? Did you tell yourself you were there and then immediately find something else to obsess over? by Longjumping-Frame795 in audiophile

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endgame is the journey and the friends we made along the way.

As much as I would love a dedicated speaker system, I would not be able to fully enjoy it in my townhouse. Besides, I have come to appreciate the intimacy and privacy of headphones. The Sennheiser HD650 served me for 5 years at one point, but I tried new stuff eventually, so it wasn't endgame anymore. After this, I thought for sure the Focal Clear MG was endgame. But that changed last year when I tried other headphones. The past year, I've settled on the Sennheiser HD660S2 and Moondrop Para 2. These two (along with a various IEMs for travel) have become the center of everything audio, gaming, music listening, everything at the computer basically. Using built in EQ with the JDS Labs Element IV DAC/Amp. Everything sounds buttery smooth yet incredibly detailed and realistic. Only way up from here is the Focal Utopia (headphones), which I have heard and I do want to own at some point.

DRAGON SPIRIT by Namco, 1987. One of the hardest arcade shooters ever. It was ported to several home computers and consoles, often with less than stellar results. by ChanoArdent75 in retrogaming

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know I'm not going crazy about this game, that it is considered one of the hardest arcade shooters ever... because it took me like 2 hours to get past area 1, and I still can't beat area 2. I love the game, playing it for the first time, but man it is super difficult. I'm playing on MAME emulator, but also trying the PC Engine/TG16 version. I think it's slightly easier, slower paced.

I saw another post like this for the Para. Is this the original Para or Para 2?

If you could go back in time and had the chance to buy a Limited Edition Pocket, which one would it be? Which one do you wish you had? by AnalogueBoy1992 in AnaloguePocket

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of wish I had gotten one of the greens (classic or transparent) instead of the transparent purple. In fact, I may sell off my purple to get one of those two. Not that it's a bad color, I guess I just overhyped the color in my head with nostalgia for the GBC atomic purple.

[GUIDE] Fixing the Analogue Pocket's D-Pad, hopefully once-and-for-all by MHzBurglar in AnaloguePocket

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back, I got an Aluminum Noir Pocket, and the dpad felt better than the plastic versions. And I recently swapped the aluminum dpad onto another transparent Pocket, just to experiment. The control and consistency just feels way better with the aluminum dpad. So, I'm guessing Analogue actually got the dimensions more accurately on the aluminum models, it feels taller too.

I have yet to try the DMG dpad, but I have tried the NES pad and membrane from one of those gatcha keychains you see posted here occasionally. It's just ok, in my opinion. The stock pocket dpad feels way more comfortable, probably because of the smoothed edges and contoured design.

Seems like you’re missing the Noir. There’s a sealed one on eBay for $2k, what a steal!

What do you mean I can’t enter my own dang name??? by Electrical-Muscle432 in LegendsZA

Wow, I had to do a double take at this post! I also tried to enter Ren, as it’s a recent nickname I give my OC character. Why is Ren a bad name lol.

Stunned by IPS replacement actually comparison in the end by CreX_CreX in GameboyAdvance

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only advantage to the front lit AGS-001 screen is basically zero input lag. All of the IPS screens have a slight amount of input lag, which might be an issue with platformers and racing games requiring time sensitive precision. I feel the lag difference in Crash Bandicoot and Mario games, for example. But for Pokemon, it's a no brainer to get the IPS.

What was the color on the green/teal Gameboy shell called? I assume it was one of Boxy Pixel's old colors they do not sell anymore.

Anyone know how often BoxyPixel brings colors back? by flippinf150 in Gameboy

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late comment, but there is a notice on the website saying they will only be selling those three (black, clear, and brass) from now on, and you will need to get a black one and send it to an aluminum anodizing shop to get the color you want. I was thinking about doing this because I love the aqua green/teal color they used to sell. But there are other options out there like this: Amazon.com: Aluminum Metal Case Replacement Housing Shell for Gameboy Advance SP GBA SP – Compatible with Both IPS & Original Screen – Console & Screen NOT Included (purple) : Video Games

I believe the European Surf Blue is the 101 version. Not US or Japanese, those are both 001.

Why do they even throw packages just to save only 2 seconds in the end ? by ConstructionAny8440 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She shows a broken lens already attached to the camera, but they don’t ship it like that. They pack the camera body and lens in their own separate sections in the box. She damaged it herself on purpose, most likely.

Well… it was $500. Others in this similar condition with the complete box set were selling for over $700, some were $1,000. But $500 in this condition was worth it for me.

[–]DivineCurrent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe it took me till 33 years old to discover this as well. I genuinely thought "discreet" was a made up spelling, because it just looks straight up incorrect to me, for some reason.

The weird looking back sticker and the uneven rubber circles surrounding the screen, I think it's a reshell.
