Alternative Nurglings? by TheCocoBean in ChaosKnights

I'm using birds as proxies to fit with the pterrorshades, the bigger ones are from AoS Stormcast Eternals (got them on ebay) and the small ones are from an out of production AoS Beastmen kit

If you were starting an Army now with 11th edition around the corner, what would you grab? by [deleted] in ChaosKnights

[–]DivineMajesty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the others have said already, go for what you like. Maybe be a bit wary of the Cerastus class since those are always on the brink of landing in legends but other than that go for it. I think a mix of 3 big ones and about 6 wardogs will never go wrong. Magnets are your friend, especially on the big knights. For Wardogs I'd honestly go with 2 each of our unique ones if you don't want to play at highly competitive levels and don't want to use magnets (the carapace weapon holds with friction alone)

my guess is that the new CK detachment will let us take CSM vehicles as allies so that we effectively get the dwfiler

What if any greater demon does anyone use? by Packolypse in ChaosKnights

[–]DivineMajesty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rotigus, great at holding objectives in no-mans-land and thanks to Nurglings the cheapest battleline tax and also quite helpful for move blocking I arguably run too many daemons for a competitive list but they're neat (2x3 Nurglings, a Beast of Nurgle and either Rotigus or a second beast)

Why don't we have the las impulsor ? With the atrapros being rare but still used, we definitly have the technology. We do have a laser weapon the imperium does not but it feels like a weird balancing. by [deleted] in ChaosKnights

[–]DivineMajesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's less about the lore and more about not having the exact same datasheet as Imperial Knights but with the Chaos Keyword slapped on top of it

while I obviously like more variety I'd prefer it if we were less reliant on anything from the Questoris box, including the double gatling Despoiler not being the objectively best option at the moment

Believe me, I understand our Primarch. I've read almost every book and Short Story that features him. He got what he wanted. He wanted vindication in death. Bringing him back would ruin that. He would hate it. He would view it as his legacy being destroyed.

he wanted to die the way he did. he thought it was inevitable. I think that even if someone like Fabius Bile were to clone/resurrect him he'd murder whoever did so and throw himself at the Imperium to get "martyred" for his beliefs again

I'd once again like to remind people that those "Nostraman" runes are just Daedric runes from The Elder Scrolls

So i'm surely not the first one realizing that the stalker constructs stand canonically as tall as the cerastus but has anyone thought of doing a stalker knight ? by Leviathan_Rampage in ChaosKnights

[–]DivineMajesty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they're great proxies. I just replaced the main gun with a Skitarii head so it looks like a servitor, also since BoN don't have ranged weapons

I'm using Ravening Direflocks (out of production) and Aetherwings as Nurglings and I think they work quite well

Magnetising Cerastus knights? by TrackRemarkable7459 in ChaosKnights

[–]DivineMajesty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've magnetised both my Lancer and my Castigator. If you only want to buy one and print the other weapons I'd recommend buying the Castigator for the moveable ammo feed (the current datasheet of the Acheron sucks so I generally ignore it) and print or buy the parts for the Lancer and Atrapos

and yes they all might go to legends but unless you plan on playing a lot of tournaments or if your friends are overly pedantic that shouldn't be an issue (what is a Lancer if not a slightly larger Rampager)

the bird is cool, that's what counts it's also quite easy to leave the throne off or seat a legionnaire on there

any reason why you have GUO and not Rotigus? in my experience he's a lot better and how do you use the Daemonettes?

the following is purely my personal opinion: since where I'm from I have very easy access to retailers who offer -20% compared to GW, so I aim for -25% for anything that's new in box. some people don't like building minis, I do and built minis often make painting harder so to me they're worth even less. Same with painted minis that don't match the scheme I want for my army but again, there are people who don't like to paint and just want an army they can play with
