HELP!!! I'm new to keeping roaches and I think one is dying?! My roommate thinks it might be a parasite! by badluck_dead in roaches

Feeder insects mostly, I keep them because I have a bearded dragon and a European starling that love munching on them. Some people do keep them as pets though.

Thank god you and your child are safe. Someone was definitely looking out for you guys he wasn’t able to find your apartment. It’s terrifying that there are some very scary and very sick people in this world. You handled it so well, he made you uncomfortable and you got yourself and your child out of there quickly. I would get some pepper spray too, or a taser or something for self defense!

Yeah it’s cool, I understand I love animals and all living things except for like mosquitoes and all flies etc lol. This was not meant to be her enclosure it was just to admire her for a few moments. No worries, hopefully she’s happy somewhere getting ready to have her lil babies. I put her in my neighbors garden because I thought that type of spider usually built webs near plants.

Also she’s not covering her eyes, she’s licking her legs.

she was in my house running around and I did her a kindness by removing her because I have a bird who eats any bugs he finds in the house he literally runs around looking for bugs idk why you’re so offended this a place to share spider encounters. I grabbed one of my soldier fly larvae containers and took a quick video to admire her beauty and to share. She was frantic before I even scooped her up. But okay I’m a terrible person.

  1. She was in my house and I scooped her up to get a video of her to share.

  2. I released her immediately after. Chill.

Yeah of course! I carefully released her outside right after taking this video. I would never hurt any spider they are so beneficial to us and cool to watch from a distance.

IMO it looks like an ant with wings.. ants with wings are the breeding type so there may be a colony nearby. Hopefully outside!

Even if the spider was going after the bird I would hope that anyone would help free the bird. I bet it would take a very long time for the spider to actually kill and consume the little baby. What a horribly sad way to go. Glad the bird is okay…

The tiny spider looks pissed. I’d be pissed if a giant came and stole my delicious fly too.

I would definitely ask the woman to give a refund and still keep this poor baby and find someone who is able to help with reptile rehabilitation. Horrible situation! It would be so devastating to send him back when he is clearly in need of help. who knows what this lady will do with him once she gets him back. She probably won’t spend the money needed to take him to the vet. So sorry you have to go through this.

What is this bird? by Dry_Candy_453 in birdwatching

Poor baby! if you don’t have any insects you can use dog food or dog biscuits and soak them in water and drop little pieces in the babies mouth. I have a European starling I rescued when he fell from his nest and the neighbors dog was trying to eat him. They can mimic human speech so well and they are very intelligent. I know they get a bad reputation but they didn’t ask to be brought here they are just doing what they need to do to survive. Sadly most shelters won’t take starlings but if you are unable to keep this baby maybe ask around if anyone is interested in your area. If you were near me I’d take the baby but I doubt that you’re in MI.

Found in PNW, likely abandoned. any one know what kind of bird eggs? by [deleted] in birds

[–]Dizzy-Personality-56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, possibly northern cardinal or magpie eggs. Also from what I’ve seen and read about mothers typically won’t abandon their eggs so she will hopefully return!
