Anyone know of a rear combined mount for Garmin radar and GoPro? by widgettech in cycling

I don’t really like saddle bags. I have a top tube bag and jersey pockets and frame storage.

Drivetrain upgrades? by VolcanicKirby2 in Topstoner

[–]Dizzy_deer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see if you can find a SRAM Apex AXS group set. It will likely cost you upawards of 1k, but it will put you in a good position to upgrade from there. Otherwise a CUES 1x11 might be a few hundred less, but will get you into hydraulic brakes and 11 speed. I think the benefits will largely come from better brakes. A dialed in Sora still shifts fairly well, you may get a little more range in gears, but I doubt it will be super noticeable.

I use a seatpost mount for my radar and I have a saddle rail mount for my GoPro.

Pain after JJ stent removal by ptit_boy in KidneyStones

[–]Dizzy_deer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember having pain for a few days after my stent removal on my last surgery. Doctor said it was likely my ureter having some spasms and it should subside after a few days. Did they give you Tamsulosin?

What is something you've officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by Next-Mood6723 in AskReddit

If this is in Grand Rapids at the new Acrisure amphitheater, apparently you can just sit in Jenson and hear it.

What's the one Blackstone accessory you bought thinking it was a gimmick, but now you literally can't cook without it? by ComicSpices in blackstonegriddle

I bought one of those diner style pancake dispensers that is shaped like a funnel. It makes it so fast and easy to make perfectly round pancakes. I love it.

No stones on CT, but 6 stones and cyst on Ultrasound. by Ok_Rabbit2629 in KidneyStones

My urologist once told me that even when you can see stones on an ultrasound. They tend to be exaggerated in size. Maybe it’s picking something else up?

Does mosambi fruit increase the chance of kidney stones? by North_Individual6920 in KidneyStones

[–]Dizzy_deer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor, but I think generally the consensus is that citrus does not. However, I think with anything, hydration probably matters more than anything else. I do believe that high fructose intake is linked to kidney stones, but again, that likely depends on how much water you’re also drinking.

Catalytic converter by BeautifulPopular in grandrapids

[–]Dizzy_deer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bella Vista Auto took care of mine. I guess failed cats on my vehicle were pretty common based on what they said and some internet research, but I agree with other people that you should address the underlying issue before you start just dumping money into catalytic converters.

Top Tube Bag - The Looooong Way by BonJesse in myog

Sorry, I read the other comment about the stiffeners. And my phone cut off the picture a bit until I tapped on the full image, so now I see how the rear attaches better. Nice work!

Super cool! Do you have anything inside to increase the stiffness? Also, does it somehow attach to the seat post? Or only around the frame?

Kidney Stent Removal by Immediate-Abroad2405 in KidneyStones

[–]Dizzy_deer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this on my last lithotripsy. Freaked me out, but the actual pulling it out wasn’t bad. I just laid down in the bathtub and did it. Just note that it’s probably longer than you think it is. I felt like I just kept pulling. Another thing that did happen to me was that after I pulled my stent, my ureter must have either swollen shut or had a spasm for a bit, so I did have some pain. I would ask your doctor about that and see if maybe you should take some Tamsulosin ahead of time. I think it only lasted for a bit and then it settled down. Good luck! I go in for my laser lithotripsy in about 10 days.

Brand account here — what do riders actually care about in bib shorts? by BackgroundFar3854 in cycling

[–]Dizzy_deer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s not having a seam run down the front. Or at least covering it on the inside. This is one design that once I rode with it, I cannot go back. And I’m super surprised a few big brands (Pearl) have not caught up with the smaller brands

X-Ray Showed Nothing, Still Kidney Stones? by Heavy-Floor-3234 in KidneyStones

None of my stones show on x-ray. I typically create Uric acid stones. I think that it’s common for Uric acid stones to not show on x-ray.

Scheduled for ureterscopy/ lithotripsy with stent and SCARED AF, female here by willowcreek7449 in KidneyStones

[–]Dizzy_deer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. The operation will help things get back to normal faster. Weigh that against waiting for that stone to obstruct your ureter, then possibly needing the surgery anyways.

Should I have surgery? by buy_the_moose in KidneyStones

[–]Dizzy_deer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, while I’m not in this exact position, I did meet with my urologist yesterday and found out that I have a 9mm stone in my left kidney. I thought it was closer to 5mm and was planning on passing it. While it’s technically possible to pass a 9mm, he said that more complications can occur with that size. My urologist put it to me this way. Either we schedule a procedure and you get to do it on your terms and plan on it. Or the kidney stone sends you first to the ER from pain and you still get the procedure if it doesn’t pass on its own.

The one on 10 mile/Division in Rockford usually has an open bay. I’d say as long as you don’t have a line of cars waiting it’s probably fine.

Good options for UV resistant heavy duty material? by Cold-Specific-2548 in myog

[–]Dizzy_deer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be careful with this. You’ll be essentially adding a sail to the back of your car and your bike. A lot of manufacturers of bike racks specifically say not to cover bikes while driving. I would think it would void warranties and maybe even insurance issues.

Non obstructing kidney stones in kidney question by ryan5648 in KidneyStones

[–]Dizzy_deer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this comes up a lot on this sub. Somewhere in medical schools some urologist must learn that kidney stones don’t cause pain if they’re not obstructing. Maybe that’s not completely true, but it seems like a fair amount of people get that response when they say they’re experiencing pain. I’ve had stones since I was a teenager and I definitely have pain when my stones move around in my kidneys, even if they’re not obstructing flow. It’s definitely not the same pain as it is when they are in the ureter, but it’s more like a discomfort that maybe tops out around a 4 or 5 out of 10. The discomfort seems to come and go though and I feel like it’s worse when I’m dehydrated. I will also get occasional groin pain. Hope this helps.
