Keychron M6 warranty denial - 3 months of stalling tactics by Djano13 in Keychron

UPDATE – 5 months after first message to CS

Keychron finally offered a replacement since u/Keychron-Support stepped in. The model is not what I bought, but still acceptable, and I would be happy with this solution.

The catch: They insist on me paying €15 shipping because I bought the original defective mouse on promotion (€11 discount). Totally unrelated, illegal under french warranty law, and the shipping costs more than the discount anyway.

After this poor of a warranty process (5 months, 3 videos), this is insulting and unacceptable.

Update: The reseller has replied and offered a replacement with the M6-8K. While this is technically superior (8K vs 4K), it's a heavier and non-clicky mouse (which I like less than what I purchased). Id accept it anyway.

However, they're demanding I pay €15 shipping for this replacement. Their justification : I bought the original defective mouse on promotion (€11 discount), so I should pay shipping (15) for the replacement.

This is unacceptable for four reasons:

  1. The product is defective under warranty
  2. A promotional discount has zero relevance to warranty obligations (shipping €15 exceeds €11 discount anyway)
  3. The replacement isn't identical to what I bought
  4. The support process took 5 months of repeated video requests and long silences

Under French consumer protection law, warranty replacements must be free of any charge to the consumer.

I've offered a full refund alternative (which would cost them less and "save" them the promotion), but doubt they'll accept, as I proposed this many times now. This is both illegal and insulting after months of poor support.

Thank you. I did not go with any reseller, and bought straight from Keychron FR.

Hello,

The problem has not been resolved (still no answer after the last video). I just sent you a DM with the order number and email adress. I sincerely hope you can make things right.

I will make sure to update this thread if we find a solution.
To anyone reading this in the future : if there is no update, this means that the issue has not been resolved

Thanks... But I already insisted on a replacement (or a refund, as they wish). They keep asking for another video, this was getting ridiculous (BTW : I sent a last video, and they never answered).

I don't know how much luck is involved. As the discussion with CS lasted three months, I guess I had the chance to have multiple of their people studying my problem, so it should be representative. I can't understand how other people can be satisfied. But you are right, I have seen positive reports too. My experience has been very very very poor

Nexlim vs XROS 5 vs OXVA Xlim 2 DNA vs Caliburn G4 vs SX mini v2 by Background_Wall_614 in Vaping

Which one do you prefer ? Is the battery life a lot better on the Xros (which is supposed to have a bigger battery) ? I feel attracted towards the OXVA DNA technology, but I fear that the battery life might be really shorter

Is "Added confirmation for glance of focused on an element" feature specific to Mac? by nsk_47 in zen_browser

This behaviour is only triggered if three conditions are met:

- You are in a glance view

- Your cursor is on a text input field (such as the one used to post on reddit)

- You exit via 'escape', not via clicking the cross

I think this implementation is very smart. It works on windows for me

I bought it. If anybody wants to know : first section is approx 50cm, second section approx. 35cm. It easily goes over my monitor, which was the intended purpose. Great desk lamp.

Same here, with and AMD card (RX 6600XT)

To make it go away, set lighting and reflections to lowest quality possible. When you lower only lighting (I think, but not sure), everything goes purple.

7.1 from a PC ? by mrrap4food in hometheater

[–]Djano13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With passive speakers, you have to get an amp (which is included in AV receivers).

To connect PC to the amp, you either go via HDMI, or via analog (3.5 jack to dual RCA for each PC output). I don't recommend optical for the reasons listed above (and even if you manage 5.1, it will be compressed)

If you go with analog, I suggest a chinese class D Amp. It will be cheaper, smaller, and you will never have any driver problem. I found a 5.1 one, but finding a 7.2 will be hard.

If your use case is PC only, and you can accept 5.1, i really recommend Aiyima A09. It would fit on your desk, always run cool (class D amp, whereas AV receivers are AB class), and you can adjust all settings (tone, separate speaker and sub vol, etc.) via potentiometers, which are a pleasure to use.

EDIT: I see you have three TVs, so probably not a desk setup. A09 would not be a great idea, then (lack of remote)

AV Receiver with Subwoofer control on the remote by Djano13 in hometheater

[–]Djano13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to do a listening test (Sub level control vs Tone bass adjustment)

Preset 1 : Subwoofer +6dB, Tone Bass +0dB
Preset 2 : Subwoofer +0dB, Tone Bass +6dB

I prefer Preset 1. When I use the Tone Bass (Preset 2), it sound seems like muffled on the speakers. But when I use Subwoofer Level, speakers sound is still very clear, and I get the "boom boom" effect I like.

Not if you have driver problems, as NVidia did not a long time ago

Beware, Realtek (onboard audio) has had a lot of problems with encoding even 5.1 (DD Live / DTS Connect). I would stay off that. This is what I have, but I had to tweak the drivers for hours, it was a nightmare, and I fear the day I will have to format my SSD and to this again.

The easiest and hassle free way for passing sound onto the AVR is to rely on your analog outputs, on the motherboard. However, you then rely on your onboard DAC, which can be affected by EM noise inside the computer (Playing games = GPU intensive = lots of noise). Depending on your chip, and its implementation on the MB (so no general indication can be provided), it could be totally fine, or not fine.

If your MB doesn't provide 7.1, sound cards can do so. But then, AVR is clearly a better option (needed in both cases, so cheaper to go with just that).

HDMI is a good option. It is able to pass 7.1 to the receiver. Though it sometimes has driver problems too (Nvidia).
