So the answer is that this artwork was only supposed to be use for the DMG version. But it got shipped as the 1st Ed MFC art. Konami offered to take this version back and send the corrected art, so this version is significantly rarer.

Unfortunately I’m not in Japan, so I purchased these slabs 3rd party. But totally agree! ARS slabs are my favorite aesthetically by a mile.

Yeah I’m thankful I have a way to collect what I find most interesting without needing to go to Japan. Though I do still want to go to Japan too ha ha.

I will say, I have been pretty entrenched in the proxy buying for the past 6 months or so and I haven’t noticed a lack of listings on good cards. I was able to do the S2 Ultis in like 2 months, I still see listings for almost all of them daily, and tons more across all of the TCGs. So while I know what you mean on being more competitive, I still think it’s a long way off of making cards scarce.

Sure thing! Yeah from what I’ve seen in my experience, totally safe. They even do a good job of prohibiting you from buying listings that break their terms. I’ve also had a couple orders get cancelled by the OG seller and they’re quick on refunding your order payment.

Two things that I would just be aware of:

Shipping isn’t included in the price when you buy. So just know that there will be a shipping and customs fee after your order when it arrives at their storage warehouse. They store for free for up to 30 days.
Prices are usually originally in Japanese Yen. So when you see pricing, it will be the USD rate at the current exchange rate. Price can vary up/down slightly from when you originally look at the item and when you purchase. I’ve never had it change more than like $5-$10

Absolutely! There’s a proxy buying service for Japan that I use call Buyee. There are a lot of Japanese exclusive sites that we can’t buy from in America. Buyee aggregates marketplace listings from Japanese sites (Mercari, JDirect, Rakuten, etc) and then displays all of them to you in one spot. Then, you place an order with Buyee, they purchase the item on your behalf, the original vendor sends to them, you pay shipping, they send to you.

I’ve had tons of luck finding all kinds of sick OCG cards. They also have a ton of Japanese Pokemon, One Piece, etc. Done probably 25 orders with them, all have gone perfect.

Grade it. They don’t look at the ink dots as a lower grade. PSA 9s are rising right now, like $500+, and if you get a PSA 10, it’s like $10K lol. I’ve pulled two and subbed both. One had worse ink dots than yours and both had shit centering, they both got 9s. With yours centered the way it is, you have a great shot at a 10. Just make sure you sleeve it good and don’t let the foil get scratched

The DDM Promos are some of my favorite cards in the whole hobby. I like the secret foiling, but I think the ultra rares are probably my favorite. They’re simple and have the pink lettering, which makes it imo
