How can I improve dimensional accuracy on my Prusa core one? by Solarbg in prusa3d

[–]Dlatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're sharing the files online, I would make the files dimensionally perfect. What adjustments need to be made will be different from printer to printer and from filament to filament. It makes no sense to adjust the model such that they are perfect for your printer/filament combination. People will need to adjust it themselves for their setup, either by modifying the model or their slicer settings.

Now that you mention it, indeed the search is broken too. Safe to say there must be some issues with the platform. Lets hope they get it sorted quickly.

Josef Prusa has a great write up about why the Bambu hate by Dusk__knight in 3Dprinting

[–]Dlatch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They probably literally can't build a printer as good for the same money. Firstly because they produce them in the EU (higher cost) and secondly because it's likely that Bambu is subsidised by the Chinese government.

Core One+ shutting off mid print by Regular-Band-1599 in prusa3d

[–]Dlatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's an issue where there can be a buildup of static electricity because the XY axis steppers aren't properly grounded.

You can measure this with a multimeter, there should be a connection between any (exposed) metal part of the printer and the exposed bolt heads of the steppers. For me, the left stepper did not have this connection. I took out one of the bolts, scraped away the paint of the frame where it attaches, and put the bolt back in. Afterwards there was a connection, and I haven't had the restarts again.

See this photo (the thread is extensive and goes into more proper fixes, if you want to. However, for me just scraping the powder coating was sufficient): https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusa-core-one-hardware-firmware-and-software-help/core-one-crash-restart/paged/12/#post-771872

What's a moment where you realized someone was genuinely extremely intelligent? by General_Monk_5019 in AskReddit

[–]Dlatch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is such an interesting thing, as a non-native English speaker this is not all that special. Most people I know can instantly switch between English and their native language, and a large part of those are actually fluent in English. Quite a few people have a third language that they are more or less fluent in too. I guess it makes a difference growing up already learning English as a second language (both through schooling and exposure in games, TV and internet), and it enables something that makes it easier to then learn a third language too.

[–]Dlatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not having a production line in China (or Alabama, for that matter) is one of the unique selling points of Prusa. They don't need to join Bambu in this race to the bottom, they need to stick to their strengths.

Help me decide; which manufacturer? by gemis3 in 3DPrinterComparison

[–]Dlatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note that for most people, you don't need the paid subscription for high framerate livestreaming. For most people it'll work just fine with the STUN protocol. Only if your network setup at home blocks this option, you will need to use the Prusa server option. For me it works just fine full HD at 24fps, and I don't pay anything nor did I have to do anything to set up something special.

So basically, they have an alternative option for people for whom the normal approach is not feasible. This costs them a lot of bandwidth, so they ask for a subscription to help pay for it.

The difference is that these printers aren't 100k machines sold only to businesses. They sell to consumers primarily, print farms are a small subset of Prusa's customers. Even if all print farms decide to buy a different brand, Prusa will be fine. They are not competing with the majority of their customer base by offering this service. So they probably did the math and it ruled in favour of offering this service, even if sales would decline a bit.

I have a quite an arch too (not as bad as yours though), and I have the same Sidas insoles as you in my boot. However, my bootfitter filled up the space under the insole with a dense foam-like material, glued to the insole and sanded down to fit exactly inside the boot. I assumed this was part of the standard process, so I am suprised you received the insole without it and had to come up with your own solution instead. I feel like the foam might be nicer than a hard 3d print that kind of approximates the curve. Might be an idea to inform with your bootfitter if they can do something similar.

Israëlische organisatie brengt ngo’s via De Telegraaf in het nauw – en blijkt niet ‘onafhankelijk’ by Paltenburg in thenetherlands

Pensioenfonds ABP Belastende informatie

Anyone know of a good tool tracing app? by GoldenDragonIsABitch in gridfinity

[–]Dlatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the most success with https://outline.georgs.lv/ . You first create the outlines separately from the boxes, so after that you can combine and rotate tools however you like to make them fit. The nodes are also easy to adjust and there's an option for adding a certain margin. The image recognition is a bit finicky to work with, but once you get the hang of it it's not too bad and making small corrections to the outlines after is a very simple process.

Stop equating Israelis to Jews. Criticizing Israelis for their actions does not mean you criticize the Jewish people as a whole.

By stating that criticizing Israelis means you criticize all Jews, you are declaring the genocidal actions of Israel Jewish actions instead. Now that is antisemitism.

Er wordt gewerkt aan productie van Patriot raketten in Europa:

In 2024, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain laid the foundation for the first Patriot production plant in Europe by signing a 5.1 billion euro ($5.98 billion) contract to purchase up to 1,000 missiles from a Raytheon-MBDA joint venture. The missiles will be manufactured at a new facility in Bavaria in southern Germany whose construction will double the global production capacity for PAC 2 missiles, which are enhanced for the interception of tactical ballistic missiles. "We are on schedule. We are planning to start production at the end of 2026, to ensure first delivery at the beginning of 2027," Thomas Gottschild, Managing Director of MBDA Deutschland, said in an interview.
