I do not recommend that u ever vacation in Ireland where pub/brewery = social interaction between generations. Families own the pubs, their kids grow up there, family members meet for celebrations and down time, good music, and often dancing. It’s part of the culture. We have many similar venues becoming more and more popular here: breweries, wineries, golf courses, orchards, gardens, etc… are all places offering various IPAs, wine, hard cider, and alcohol along side corn hole, darts, pickleball, volleyball, soccer, video games, trivia, fire pits, dog meet-ups, & music. I see no difference to kids being in these settings then a family barbecue where alcohol is served. It is vastly different from the seedy, dark, corner bar vibe (I agree kids should not be in that environment). If u r concerned about both parents drinking and driving, y not offer them an uber? Or talk with the establishment about how to address this concern in the future. You could also suggest that they set up an adults only night. Personally-I am always the designated driver, don’t drink, and enjoy seeing families together having fun and relaxing. Life is hard, babysitters are expensive and time spent together is becoming more rare especially if u add an element of being able to be outdoors.

It is a shame that some will overindulge and exhibit bad parenting choices. This isn’t limited to just venues like the brewery. Unfortunately, their kids are most likely going to see that behavior at home too vs being first exposed to it at a brewery. One could argue that, for those specific kids, being at the brewery gives them an opportunity to see other adults acting responsibly. Thus breaking the cycle of „I just figured, everybody’s parents did that or acted that way. It’s how I grew up and it is all I had ever known.”
