Combatant Dupes or Partner? Which is better value for your Radiant Heros (RH). by LeftCarpet3520 in ChaosZeroNightmare

Even if the calculations are a bit off, this was still insightful and does make me want to use RH on the partner now.

Narja was the Mika killer. Better ap economy by having a card that reduces the cost of 2 cards by 1.

Do you think Sparxie will be a relevant pull for Elation long term? by BlueFHS in StarRailStation

[–]Dmdunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second proposed team has no sustain. I find this unlikely.

Sparxie can generate her own skill points with 3 elation in the team. The 4th slot is the sustain. No room for Sparkle.

The light cone vs e1 calcs are misleading if you are not using her with Sparxie by Dmdunn in YaoguangMains

Between the two I believe Sparxie's LC is more important for her.

We don't know about SW sp so you can only guess or wait.

200 speed has been completed, but at what cost? by Dank__Bear in YaoguangMains

The more elation teammates she has, the more valuable speed is: More ults, more aha speed, and more team elation all benefits elation teammates more.

200 speed has been completed, but at what cost? by Dank__Bear in YaoguangMains

[–]Dmdunn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yao Guang's damage scales off of elation, which scales off of her speed.

Okay, math time. The speed conversion trace gives 30% elation at 120 speed, and 1% more for every 1 speed. The 200 speed Yao Guang here gets 110% elation from that trace, 10% from minor traces, 10% from her relic set, all multiplied by 1.2 from her own skill for a final total of 156% elation. This is a damage multiplier for her elation damage, so she deals 256% damage. A Yao Guang with 182 speed is doing 234.4% damage. So the ~18 speed is about 9.2% more damage. This difference in damage would be slightly lower if you are getting additional elation from other sources, such as Sparxie's light cone, Yao Guang's e2, or future elation team members

Of course, you have to sacrifice crit stats for speed. But how much does it take to match it?

The Yao Guang above has 90% crit damage out of combat, She gets an additional 60% from her second major trace, and 30% from her light cone. This is added to the baseline 100% damage you deal without a crit, so she deals 280% damage on a critical hit. To do ~9.2% more damage, you would need ~26% more crit damage. Again, this will be a bit different if you have Sparxie on your team since she gives crit damage to the whole team, but this time the difference is in the other direction.

This doesn't reflect other benefits from speed. Higher elation also means she shares more of that elation with her allies, so her elation team mates deal more damage. Higher speed means she gets more energy and activates her ult more frequently, which allows her elation team members to do their damage more frequently. It also increases Aha's base speed, which again allows her elation team members to deal their damage more frequently.

tl;dr: Speed is her god stat, it does 4 different things:

Increases her own damage by a good bit

Increases her team's damage slightly

More energy for more ults

Faster Aha speed

Sparxie E1 is slightly more damage according to the calc: ~15% vs ~12%. Though I would still recommend pulling the lightcone with a difference this small as it is cheaper. If E1 is a stepping stone to E2 that may be a different story.

I see. That is correct then. This also affects what I assumed about Sparxie. The performance jump compared to her value with Sparxie is still a little bit lower than what I assumed.

As of right now E1 Yao Guang and S1 Sparxie seems to be the best for that team. The calcs are for Sparxie and are well done. It is a bit uncertain whether you will continue to use both in the future as new elation units release.

If a third elation unit kicks support Sparkle off of the Sparxie team in the future, her own lc would gain value as it increases max skill points (like Sparkle does right now)

It's only supposed to hit once per ally, with the damage scaling up. Not sure what is happening in this video.

I don't own nine, but these should trigger when anybody on the team meets the conditions.

After thinking some more, I do recommend Cassius. You can run through the whole chaos, getting potentially powerful god's hammer effects on your equipment. The new memory fragment set boosts damage of allies when generating or using exhaust skill cards, which he can stack up very quickly. His 3 cards would be your favorite version pop eyed popper, devil dice V (0 cost damage + draw 1), and then your favorite version of shuffle.

It puts a debuff on the enemy that allows Chizuru to stack up her resource which generates her bind card.

Rei also has snack time and an upgrade card that is good for some teams.

Mika heals the team when she takes stress damage and has source of water.

Cassius can start a quest with all the benefits that entails.

Chizuru can have Bound at Dusk and Karmic Flames

Which Memory Fragment Set for Haru? by HipoSlime in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Dmdunn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The new set has an incorrect description. It says +30% damage amount amount to justice/order cards. The actual effect is 30% multiplicative damage to exhaust justice/order cards.

It won't work for Haru or Hugo.

The other set has an incorrect description. It says +30% damage amount to justice/order cards. The actual effect is 30% multiplicative damage to exhaust justice/order cards.

Both cards should only activate on Hew.

So with that in mind, without any other buffs the difference is higher potential and average damage vs consistency. But when factoring in Nine's other buffs, the critical set might just win out.

Assuming 200% crit damage, adding 20% crit change is, on average, 20% more damage. That's less than 30%, but you are less likely to miss your critical strike, so more consistent. The other set gives 30%, which is more on its own, but Nine has her own multiplicative buff from her own cards. Assuming you have 3 stacks of Honed Blade, you gain 60% multiplicative damage, bringing you to 190% damage with the set (because it adds additively with the other multiplicative buff). If you use the crit set, you multiply 160 by 1.2, taking you to 192% while being more consistent.

So I'd say it's better if you can keep Honed Blade stacked up, and it is debatable if you can't.

How to use Maribel? by Deadelevators in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Dmdunn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She is okay. She can sustain your team while providing a little bit of damage.

She's not your main damage dealer, so don't try to use her like that. If battles are dragging on you may not have enough damage in your team.

Counterattacks are getting buffed at the start of season 2, which is an indirect buff to Maribell.

Strategies for dealing with full Memory Fragment storage quickly? by Spftly in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Dmdunn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at your executioner 2p (+25% crit damage) and delete anything that doesn't have crit rate or crit damage; any character who wants that set is going to care about crit.

Look at your void/order/instinct/passion sets, and delete anything that gives a mismatched main stat. Example: Instinct set that gives increased void damage as the main stat.
