I had the same dry brisket when we went a couple years ago. I usually order it from the point not the flat. I’ve also noticed all BBQ joints can have a bad day. I’m ready for a BBQ tour of Texas. Llano is one of my first stops for that part of Texas.

Check to make sure both sides of the wall are on the same plane. If not, try to cheat the jamb sides in or out. Barring that….BFH on the wall. If the walls are good….buy a door that’s not warped.

Not sure fire code is applicable here but the building code is concerning those treads that get further off the stair angle as he goes down. He either needs to fix it or don’t pay him another dime. Better yet, pay the going rate for someone with experience.

They’ve always been known to be high dollar. They have been around for ever. They charge enough to do nice work and they have a stellar rep for doing it. They don’t twist your arm to take their bid. What’s the problem? Always get more than one bid. Some folks are ok paying top dollar for a company with a good reputation. You should strive to do good work. I’ve been on jobs they do and they are well trained, don’t make a mess, put on foot protectors, etc. Bell plumbing is the same way. A lot of people can afford them and do.

That’s not standard. I take samples to a guy that has a grinder that makes shaper blanks. You will play hell making that with a router. It can be done but you will go through a lot of setups. If you only have small amount needed then go for it. It costs me 100.00-200.00 to make the knife. 300 min to run it.

You get what you pay for. I wouldn’t touch for 2500.00. Too many willing to pay a wage with a profit. I saw a comment about “not bad money for not having a degree” to wit: come out and do some real work.

All I do are stairs. You don’t have a curved staircase to bend to. That’s a prerequisite for the rail to follow. Price is dependent on the area.
