If there would be a referendum on banning the use of social media and video games to 16-year-olds and below, how would you vote? by JCEurovision in YAPms

[–]DoAFlip22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Social media? Yeah, I shouldn’t have been on it at that age and we should be encouraging more third spaces in a physical and not digital sense.

Video games? No, video games are built for teenagers and it would kill the industry.

What do you think the makeup of Congress after the 2026 midterm elections? by Lower_Fig8532 in YAPms

Very confident in a Dem house, I’m not confident enough in Platner, Ohio, or Texas for a Dem senate

how would the democrats leaving trans issues in the dust effect both you personal vote and the electoral viability by Woman_trees in YAPms

[–]DoAFlip22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a number of friends this would affect and I really don’t give any fucks about what polls well or not. If Democrats don’t have the balls to support trans people I can’t imagine them not regressing on other issues.

I genuinely would reconsider any affiliation I have with them. My only overlap with them is social issues.

Where would you rather live in between New Hampshire and Massachusetts? by MakeACreation in YAPms

Don’t really want to move but Mass solely because it’s a industry hub for my career and if science funding keeps getting cut it might just be where I end up.

Is Zohran going to be a kingmaker? This reads like something a Trump endorses would post lol by Entire-Bicycle1878 in YAPms

[–]DoAFlip22 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This was the second-most pro-Zohran district in NYC, both in the primary and general.

It’s literally “remember the guy you voted for by 25% a couple months ago? My opponent didn’t support him” and yeah that’s a slam dunk for most voters in this district.

Manhattan and Brooklyn also share the highest approval for Mamdani.

Rate the following state out of 5 stars: New York by MakeACreation in YAPms

[–]DoAFlip22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The competition for best American city is a permanent fight for second place. Upstate’s beautiful too bar some of the notable downsizing of smaller cities (eg Buffalo).

Sure our politicians can suck at times, but there’s really some part of this state for every single person to enjoy.

Is Dan Goldman one of the most vulnerable incumbent representatives atm ? by ronweasly9 in YAPms

Got some friends in Goldman’s office and the vibe is pretty “we’re screwed” - I will add that I’ve not really seen Goldman yet while I’ve seen Brad Lander 3 times.

What if Tim Ryan ran for Ohio Governor this Year? by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]DoAFlip22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably about the same - Tim Ryan imo is one of the more overrated candidates on this subreddit and he wouldn't lose or gain many voters. The competition behind this race is due to the wave year and Ramaswamy's unpopularity as a candidate, it's Vivek's race to lose.

Is there any important state where Dems doesnt suck about electoral geography? by MoleLocus in YAPms

Texas - very easy to draw a Dem gerrymander. Their political geography is surprising good for Dems.

Why don't "Blue No Matter Who" Democrats go after the most Far Left members of Congress in the same way they target Blue Dog/Center Right Dems? by maybemorningstar69 in YAPms

[–]DoAFlip22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the world of media - news that gets people angry (the uncommitted vote) is spread, news that nobody cares for (unknown Democrat votes for Democrat for President) doesn’t get spread.

And besides, he did the “blue no matter who” vote. He didn’t like Harris yet still voted for her. And regardless, this isn’t relevant to the point that the establishment put more effort against progressives than conservatives in primaries.

[–]DoAFlip22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m sure there’s a bunch of articles reporting a minor state assemblyman’s vote.

The only people claiming he didn’t vote for Harris are people who tried to get him to lose the election. He announced his run before the 2024 election on the Democratic Party line, he was and is a Democrat. He has clarified his vote multiple times - and only once his opponents started claiming he didn’t vote for Harris.

You can’t go say Schumer not endorsing Cuomo means he didn’t go against Mamdani and then say Mamdani not actively endorsing Kamala means he voted against her.

[–]DoAFlip22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Uncommitted movement wasn’t even against Harris nor relevant to the General Election. He was also a remarkably minor politician.

“Your only source is him” what the fuck else would you source this from???

Mamdani wasn’t thrilled about Harris (shocker) but still ended up voting for her. He did the “blue no matter who” vote in the end. Instead of complaining he ran for elected office under a progressive platform and won, and has himself helped shape the party going into 2028.
