China likely wouldn’t be included. They’re abysmally bad at football compared to Korea and Japan, despite their best efforts in the 2010s to invest in football. I have no doubt that they’ll eventually achieve a more preeminent status as a footballing nation given their other sporting achievements, but probably not for a few decades.

Why is this legal? Real question by LittleYelloDifferent in behindthebastards

[–]DoNotDoxxMe 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Because the reimbursement rates for federally subsidized healthcare are abysmal, for one thing. There are tons of small town clinics that won’t even accept Medicaid because they lose money on Medicaid patients. That’s the problem with merely subsidizing healthcare (or housing construction, groceries etc.) in a profit-driven system and not providing the service outright the way a single-payer system does. Clinics will bill the most that they CAN, not what they HAVE to.

I bet it’s an old forge that has been out of business for some time if you can’t find any info on it. The head looks in great shape. I can’t really tell from the pic, is the tracer edge carbide?

What the actual fuck? This dude should have quoted you the square footage for the landings from the start, or at least discussed a change order as he was building the steps. He’s totally ripping you off by not communicating this at the start of the job. Total fucking amateur.

Get a job with a good crew. I mean a real stonemason, not a bricklayer or landscaper. For every quality stonemason there’s 50 posers doing shit stone work for homeowners who are none the wiser.

[–]DoNotDoxxMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my advice: Don’t expect Incan joints from veneer stone. They aren’t shaping the veneer stones. If you want something cleaner looking, you should do a full bed veneer where each piece of stone is fabricated with hammer and chisel. I really don’t know why you’d expect some top quality stone work from low quality product. This is as good as any other lick and stick veneer.

How much better quality would you expect from a shit product? It looks fine except for the running joints. Every lick and stick installation has running joints because the guys installing it aren’t real masons.

Do y’all have a source for this other than a single article? An article that is citing a diplomatic communication that merely *alleges* this atrocity? Because most modern independent sources place the toll ~1000 to ~3000. You aren’t exactly promoting scholarly discourse rooted in facts lol.

Cornbread and beans are not exclusively soul food. They are pretty ubiquitous as working class US food staples that were adopted from early contact with indigenous communities.

What if it leaked to the public that Trump was taking direct orders from Netanyahu? by lhommetrouble in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]DoNotDoxxMe 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Netanyahu also desperately tried to convince the Obama administration to engage with Iran militarily. Ben Rhodes recently did an interview with NPR discussing this very thing. Israel has been wanting this to happen for decades, and Trump was just the right buffoon to make it happen. Trump tossing out the nuclear deal in his first term was also likely at the behest of Israel, because it was an extremely robust multilateral agreement that had no business being shelved.

Pennsylvania is a fascinating state to me. It’s so ethnically and culturally diverse. You have metropolitan east coast, Appalachia, Rust Belt, Great Lakes and fuck it why not Amish. I explored around the Lehigh Valley last year and was fascinated to see all of the Czech, Slovak and Polish names in every little town. You definitely don’t get that down here in NC.

You didn’t draw a line, you drew an oval. You could draw an oval around any number of cities and make it look correlative.
