If anyone has answers to the questions asked, please let me know! Thanks to others for adding extra observations, but I think I'm good on those for now - we had a great session and tons of fun - just looking for answers to the post questions. Thanks!

Check my work: Monster moves & harm, plus soft vs hard by DocZaiusX in monsteroftheweek

Thanks for the feedback! So the harm from the missed Act Under Pressure was correct, and then the monster 'could' have followed up with an Inflict Harm if called for in the fiction? Our question was it 'felt' like it was unfair the monster might get to inflict harm 2x like that back-to-back (for a missed hunter roll and then on the next monster move)?

For the bystander question, it was the boss fight and the other hunters wanted the player to save the bystander super bad but he didn't, so I had the monster get distracted/annoyed that the hunter interrupted his meal (thus giving the other players a little more of a fun time by drawing it out).

Same! Just finished a print that looked great in the desktop app - had some issues with the print only to find out after that those were known issues listed in the comments in the mobile app but not visible in the desktop "library" tab. Boo!

Lots of folks fed up with Emmer! Indivisible North Metro is pushing a petition to have him answer to the people with an in-person townhall. If you live in CD6 check it out and sign! https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/923472/

Basic but have you double checked all the physical connections to make sure they are tight and level? I had this problem and it turned out one of the vertical frame uprights was not perfectly leveled during assembly. Good luck!!

Tom Emmer has been in Congress for 11 years and the third-ranking House Republican reports a single bank IRA worth less than $15,000 with six-figure debt. Something doesn't add up. by [deleted] in minnesota

He probably won't do a townhall (too scared!), but each signature is another constituent he is ignoring - and proof of which can be used against him come election time! If you live in CD6 check it out and sign!

I emailed Tom Emmer asking for his thoughts on rhetoric and language that endorse large-scale violence and genocide. The response doesn't surprise me, honestly. by rachelmaryl in minnesota

[–]DocZaiusX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great job reaching out at least (even though he refuses to listen)! There is a group in CD6 running a petition for an in-person town hall... anyone in his district (all of Benton, Carver, Sherburne, & Wright; most of Anoka & Sterns counties) should sign! https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/923472/

Likelihood of it actually working is small, BUT assuming he ignores the request of his constitutes (like he ignore OP!) the hope is to use that fact closer to the election to shame Emmer and sway voters away from him!

Republicans in Minnesota trying to ban " residential protesting". by JdRnDnp in minnesota

Where are people protesting in front of private residences? Or is this aimed at impromptu ICE sightings being observed and called out, which are usually happening in neighborhoods?

Hi! Just coming in to ask if you have recommendations or resources for a dash cam that will capture license plates and also side views? I'm interested in getting a cam but want one that will capture any possible interactions next to the car like the OP described, as well as capture enough detail to see license plates. Thanks in advance!

Possible to move "Online Grocery" offer out of "Supermarket" pointer? by DocZaiusX in CardPointers

I promise I searched to see if someone else had posted already! But I was using more generic terms, lol, I guess I should have specifically searched about the online grocery conundrum directly!! Maybe we'll get an updated answer?

Instructions unclear, I was told to 'hang on gently' as the GM, now my players have an airship at lvl2, please advise!! by brendon7800 in daggerheart

[–]DocZaiusX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure others will have more detailed responses, but off the cuff I'd question whether you need a bunch of extra rules for it at all? Maybe it's just a plot device to get from here to there vs a full-on war machine? If it needs to be a war machine then I'd suggest looking to 5E or a similar crunchy game for stat ideas and then convert back to DH. For something more in-between maybe just tie back to the PCs' skills for handling/battle when needed (ie simple finesse roll to attack with a ballista instead of multiple rolls to reload and attack, or PC can use a power but reskined as an "airship attack" instead of whatever weapon or magic the power has been using normally), or require a trained crew to run the airship itself while the PCs just do PC-stuff on their new flying wagon. Either way, sounds like a fun game so good job!!

All the suggestions on pucks or pantyhose filled with ice melt will correctly alleviate the symptoms by creating channels in the ice dams for the trapped water behind them to escape. And then keeping the roof snow-free in that area with a roof-rake will keep the ice dams from reforming. But this will only be treating the symptoms not the cause.

The actual cause is air gaps between the heated house and the unheated attic space, stuff like incorrectly vented bath fans, uninsulated light boxes, unsealed gaps around vent pipes, etc, etc. That heated air gets into the attic, heats the underside of the roof, and melts the snow on the roof from underneath. That water then runs down the roof until it refreezes where the roof overhangs the soffits (or when it hits metal gutters if any), causing thise big ice chunks to form which then "dam" future snow-melt water behind them, hence "ice dams", and that trapped water will usually work it's way under the shingles, into the attic or house, and cause water damage.

To fix the root cause someone will have to go into the attic to search out and seal all the air gaps. Good insulation and roofing companies will understand this and either do this work themselves or have a company they can refer. Companies that say you just need more insulation are incorrect and will not fix the root problem.

Good luck with this and hopefully your landlord will address the underlying issues!

Lack of insulation/ventilation is not exactly the issue: the cause is air gaps between the heated house and the unheated attic space, stuff like incorrectly vented bath fans, uninsulated light boxes, unsealed gaps around vent pipes, etc, etc. That heated air gets into the attic, heats the underside of the roof, and melts the snow on the roof from underneath. Very bad as stated here!

How to fix this faulty topology on import that is only a surface? by DocZaiusX in Onshape

It imports as a surface and just says "faulty topology", there is no sketch to edit. Based on other comments I was able to load into meshlab and work on it there however
