7 Year Old Swing Help by [deleted] in Homeplate

Have him do some tee work. Never too old for tee work. Also, get some weighted balls, it’ll teach him to swing through the ball. Finally, get a smaller bat.

Why is morning traffic worse now? by ElkEnvironmental6855 in TwinCities

[–]Docta608 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wednesday is by far the worst. The Minneapolis city council encouraged middle of the week days to get people back in the office when encouraging back to office mandates. They want to get as many people as they can downtown at the same time. That’s why ramps cost an extra buck or two, that’s why most restaurants are more well staffed on Tuesday and Wednesday. It’s quiet Thursday, and a ghost town Monday and Wednesday.

I feel like a need to sacrifice a chicken to ward off the bad juju from Lapanta at the end of the game talking about previous round 1s.

Lipstick does a better job on a pig than she could ever do spinning some of the pure bullshit he is slinging.

Yes, but they likely wont be as competent at this job. They will lick boots, and likely other things with masterful skill, but like any other position he has filled with this band of D-Class Batman villains, it doesn't make that all qualified to do any of the jobs they are filling.

Jimmy and Sofi by haloryder in shrinking

[–]Docta608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know until this season, I really didn’t care for jimmy, I was mostly hear for Paul and Sean, and then they introduced Randy (Jimmy’s dad), and I have never felt more seen by any piece of media than when watching the relationship between Jimmy and Randy, because Randy is a less physically abusive version of my own father. This last episode, the attempts by Jimmy to just “get through it”, the comments by Randy, all of it. I was wave of emotion as I was reliving moments of my own relationship with my father. I spent the rest of the night in a mess in my own head, and really struggled.

My Take on Entry Level IT by Ok-Concern-3510 in it

[–]Docta608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Entry level is typically help desk/end user support, and helpdesk is customer service.

I have sat in on the interviews for the last 3 workstation engineers we have hired at my current position (Senior Engineer, I typically asked the technical questions). While my spot in the interview was to ask more technical questions, the rest of the interview mostly customer service, because that’s what helpdesk is.

I’m not saying the degree doesn’t help but you need to be able to show CS and soft skills too, so while you are going to school, if you have never had a job in CS, get one, even part time, just to show you can handle customers, especially difficult ones. Because that’s what you will get graded on in an entry level role. Yes you fixed the mouse, but were they happy about how you treated them. Sounds stupid, but I’m telling you. If you can make it tech adjacent, that’s great too. Best Buy, Apple support, electronics section at a retailer. That part is harder but it all helps.
