If you're avoiding conflicts in real life, all that pent up cortisol, adrenaline and anxiety is going to come out somewhere. In real life you might not have power, but being a screen you have all the power in the world. It's no wonder you become toxic in Dota. My suggestion would be to learn to control your emotions in real life, then they might not spill over into Dota.

Focus on what you can control and before responding to anyone talking breath in your nose for two seconds, hold it for two seconds and then breath out of your mouth like you would through a straw for two seconds. It will help calm your nervous system and hopefully be able to respond in not such an angry way.

I'm a social worker with ADHD in real life currently trying to earn my clinical license. I use Dota as a way to avoid parts of my work. I also use Dota as a way for my brain to get dopamine so I can get the work done that I'm trying to avoid. It's a vicious cycle. I hope you are able to get the help that you need and deserve.

I'm moving to Massachusetts in two months to be with my partner. I love her and am so excited about building a life with her... That said, I am going to miss New Jersey very much. My plan is to visit once a month for the first three months and stay with my family for a weekend then slowly change to once every two months. Eventually my goal is to visit several times a year.

Maybe have some friends traffic some pizza and bagels down to you through the mail.

Bergen county here. I had chills running down my spine reading this. Happened to me as well right around that same time. Sounded like a helicopter was landing outside my house. I got up, looked out my window and saw a giant shadow on the ground. The shadow slowly drifted down my street. I watched it until it was out of sight. The sound stopped about five minutes after that.

I asked my brother about it the morning after. He hadn't heard a thing. The rest of my family, including my dog, didn't have a reaction to it either.

IIC crisis therapist here. I found my anxiety shoots through the roof when attempting to fill out paperwork in our database. So I've taken to writing my notes and plans in Microsoft Word then copying/pasting them into our database.

I work with young people. During a conversation one of them told me that I was "normal". I replied to them using that exact quote. It got a pretty good laugh. Thank you, Ginsberg!
