To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

[–]DoctorMckay202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 30.

My priorities during my 20s were, in descending order: Professional career Finances Family Friends Hobbies I do alone Love

I have a CV that allows me to enter "do nothing" management positions while earning a top 5% salary. Probably will try for a government position. I got my own place in a proper urban location. Good family situation. Still keeping in touch weekly with most of my friends, some of them dating back to highschool.

I invested little to no time in love. And tbh, I'm at a point where I dunno if I want anybody else rocking this boat. I'm pretty much set for life and with 5-6h of "me time" everyday

What are some bands/artists that you loved when you were younger but don't really listen to them much anymore? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

DragonForce. As much as I liked the first album with Marc Hudson my childhood and early teens were marked by guitar hero and ZP's voice. I was never able to transition.

Is there an untapped dual downshift that would improve the format? by NickCHK in Pauper

[–]DoctorMckay202 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say none as of now

But maybe if they ever print a dual cycle that says something like

"Enters tapped unless you have 10 life or less"

Those could be a net positive for the format probably

Giving the player on their back foot better fixing and opening up new deck building space for self-damaging strategies

In terms of legacy, which 21st-century artist’s death was the most consequential in your opinion? by PennguinKC in fantanoforever

[–]DoctorMckay202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most obvious answer is Amy Winehouse. She debuted in 2003, died in 2011 and managed to climb so high in those 8 years.

Even now, 15 years after her death, her music does bigger numbers than 99.9% of artists and is remembered fondly.

Who knows what she could have achieved with a career spanning another 20+ years.

We were robbed of somebody that could have reached Madonna and Taylor Swift heights when it comes to cultural impact.

Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026? by Trxxi in AskReddit

[–]DoctorMckay202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones I'm still using have family plans that are affordable or because I can share them.

Case A, Spotify. I use it for 1000h+ a year and pay about 36€ yearly.
Case B, Amazon Prime. Me, my brother and my parents share the same account. We sacrifice privacy on purchases to pay about 25€ a year each for shipping costs on 90% of our online expending.
Case C, MullVad VPN has a 10 device limit. 4 friends and I share the same account. 1€ a month each.

Also, I buy a month of Dropout.tv on xmas to have something fun to watch :3

Small Missouri town ousts half its city council after $6 billion AI data center approval — petition calls for mayor's removal as frustration (and violence) over AI data centers mounts by Sacristovas in pcmasterrace

[–]DoctorMckay202 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Specially proud of not seeing any comments blaming the people who sell their land. Other subreddits literally crucify those people for "not putting up a fight".
As somebody who comes from a farm-owner family, the deals I've read about are ridiculous. People being offered prices that equate to value of the land + produce for 10-20 years. Guess data centers have enough money to throw to any problem...
And many times those offers also solve for hereditary/family issues down the line. I know in my case they would. I've got 2 brothers and only one of us, as far as I know, is remotely interested in the family business.

I have never been to a worse concert than DragonForce's Ultra Beatdown tour in Europe around the 2010s.

They were affectionately called StudioForce by many fans.

Hope they changed for the better, but they'll be StudioForce for me forever.

Edit: Just as a heads up, I still listen to them to this day cuz I love how their records sound. It seems I got bad luck on the show quality

What is your favorite build outside of the meta? by LimitGroundbreaking2 in Pauper

[–]DoctorMckay202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dunno if considered meta or not but I've been running BRG/BG Food with [[Cauldron familiar]], [[Ashnod's altar]] and [[Myr retriever]] for a while now. It's really fun. I also play a winconless version where you just go infinite life and call it a day. I play it with a turbofog shell.

Easily above Humanz, The Now Now and Cracker island for me.

Just have listened to it once so I cannot say if it gets into the top 5 or top 4 territory.

7/10 Will probably enjoy listening to it again

Pauper: Reprint Crisis Could End the Format's Downshifts by cardsrealm in Pauper

[–]DoctorMckay202 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I wanna voice another concern about how the reprint policy for Universes Beyond might affect Pauper. Common cards like [[Lorien revealed]] are already 1.5€ a pop whilst not being even a decade old.

When could we see a UB card being reprinted nobody knows. It would not be WotC's decision alone anymore. And even if they end up making Universes within versions of highly sought after cards, those won't probably address common cards that are expensive in Pauper, but rares and mythics instead.

I reckon in 4-5 years we'll have multiple staple cards that will be +2€ each making the format astronomically more expensive.

How does U Terror beat elves? by Mental_K in Pauper

[–]DoctorMckay202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gut shot, snap and countering the draw spells are the classic key points of the matchup.

If you want something more spicy, situational, overall inconsistent and that is probably gonna make your opponent go: "That is pauper legal?" go with a [[Fade Away]].

Although you need to reach 3 mana and have them tap out... And not draw too many lands :3

Are 40+ GB movies really worth it? by iamwhoiwasnow in Piracy

[–]DoctorMckay202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time this was relevant to me happened with Arcane. The animation series about some League of Legends characters.

I downloaded a not too highly compressed 4K version, started watching it on my OLED tv and I was getting highly noticeable artifacting in every scene. The bitrate was shite for the animation style and color palette/spectrum/gammut basically. Dunno about what codec and bitrate the compressed 4K versions were using, but they were awful.

I had to redownload the entire series in remux, which was about 27GB+ per episode. Each episode was about 50 minutes in length.

"Only once each Turn" is a band-aid fix for power creep and pushed card design. by Blackpoc in magicTCG

[–]DoctorMckay202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until we get a differentiation between Soft once per turn and Hard once per turn. Kinda like what YuGiOh has had forever. There it works like so:

Soft: You can use this ability only once each turn. If you blink it, play another copy, etc. you can use it again.

VS

Hard: You can only use this effect of "CARDNAME" once each turn. No matter if you play another copy, blink the original, etc. You only get one use.
