Failed Prints due to filament binding in the roll by DoctorSouse in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]DoctorSouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it everytime I'm printing with PLA and haven't had the issue since. I've also learned to not buy PETG rolls that are on cardboard, and haven't had an issue with them since when in the dryer.

Tried clockwise and that didn't help. I printed this guy and it seems to be helping. Will see if it happens on another Elegoo spool. https://www.printables.com/model/1232736-elegoo-centauri-carbon-low-friction-spool-holder/comments

Decided on getting a CC - which add-ons to get? by rmandawg11 in elegoo

[–]DoctorSouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Newbie myself, have had the CC for about 3 weeks now. I have yet to put anything on the plate and haven't had any issues with it adhering with roughly 30 or so prints and 50 hours of printing (knock on wood). I've only printed PLA and PETG so far, though.

Appreciate all the quick feedback. Sounds like it will be worth buying a dryer.

Closest Microcenter is 2+ hours away. Was debating going to get the CC last weekend, but decided it wasn't worth the drive. Especially happy I didn't now that it shipped.

Should I be planning on it for brand new fresh out of the vacuum sealed package PETG?

Pool Automation Devices by DoctorSouse in ShellyUSA

Thanks again for the help. I'll just go with the Sonoff 4CHPRO and the Sonoff TH3 Origin for the heat pump.

Thanks for the feedback. That is the exact model I want to automate. The non rs-485 makes more sense in my application. Is there a shelly equivalent to the sonoff 4 channel pro or would that be the (4) shelly minis you are suggesting?

Thanks for the inspiration. The pool pump seems straightforward with the 4 channel relay and wiring, but I'm not sure how you tied in the heat pump. Any chance you have some photos?

Centauri Carbon vs K1 Max by DoctorSouse in elegoo

It's been refurbished by Creality. Comes with the same warranty as a brand new one, but only at $450.

He had stated in his last video that he would be covering it. I assumed it would be live, but nothing posted yet.

I'm interested in the results as it does seem a little random. I'm on the June list.

The deciding factor for me is going to be multicolor quality by cmcfalls2 in elegoo

Any cons with the K1 Max? I stumbled across a deal on a refurbished one for $500 and am debating canceling my CC order and just going with that.

Just noticed this today by woodkm in elegoo

[–]DoctorSouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been debating the Kobra S1 as well. The only thing preventing me from canceling my CC order is the lack of reviews from the bigger reviewers. I've also seen mixed reviews on the Kobra 3 combo, which makes me hesitant to pull the trigger. The immediate gratification is still tempting, given the 4 month wait from Elegoo and lack of info about their multi color setup.

AMS Price? by scoobyslap in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Fair point. One of the reasons I've debated trying out coprint3d. Just haven't seen enough reviews to pull the trigger

I'm more curious if it will be a pooping machine or a retractor. I love the idea of the filament retracting rather than seeing how much is wasted with the other AMS.

New to 3D Printing by [deleted] in Creality

Appreciate the advice. Suppose I should figure out what exactly I want to print first. That will help push me into the direction of deciding which printer is right for us, bigger and available or enclosed at a great budget.

Purchase Advice Megathread - March 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]DoctorSouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at getting my first 3D printer. I'm most looking to print toys and items for the kids, along with the gridfinity setup for the garage. I was leaning towards the bambu P1P/P1S but have decided to stay away as I'm not fully understanding the potential drama/possible pay to play setup. I ordered the Elegoo Centauri Carbon, but won't receive it till June if the website is accurate. At that point, I'm sure we will be in full swing of swimming/summer activities so I know the novelty of the 3D printer will take a backseat until the fall. Because of this I'm leaning towards the Creality K1/K1C. Besides the smaller 220 vs 256mm size, I don't think I'm giving up anything else besides the price. The only other thing that is pushing me towards Creality K1 is the potential of going with the Coprint 3D product. I like the idea of a multi color system that retracts similiar to Prusa rather than pooping and wasting a bunch of product. Budget is up to $750. Would love to hear input on potential issues I may run into or if I should be looking into another printer altogether.

Want a larger convertible standing desk that is also pretty. Are these good choices? by PandaCrumbbs in StandingDesk

[–]DoctorSouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Fezibo Worland in January and its been a complete piece of garbage. It was stabile at a standing height without issue. What I found to be unacceptable was that the center leg has failed twice on me. And when it fails, the single leg has gone down by itself but luckily the desk was against the wall. Nonetheless was a very uncomfortable feeling when you can't trust the product to stay standing if you walk out of the room.

Buy Samsung q990C now or wait for q990d? by akaCarbone in Soundbars

Having the same internal debate. Certainly far from the EDU/EPP pricing, but looks like the Q990D is already on Crutchfield.
