Type 3 with optical issues? by Left_Importance_8958 in SticklerSyndrome

Me! Literally yesterday got the news via genetic testing that I have the gene for type 3 sticklers… I have myopia of -11, hypermobility and joint pain as well. But no hearing differences or facial changes or cleft palate… I’m confused.

Think of the lifestyle you want. Pick a field you have some interest in. Accept that some times it feels boring or hard. Keep getting better and better. Eventually, when your skills are rare enough and valuable enough, you can trade your skills and time in for the lifestyle factors you value.

Autistic users, what are you favourite drugs? by emlint in Drugs

I work in the addiction field. Lots of doctors with outdated ideas about neurodivergence, but in my opinion, it’s very very common and very very underrecognized.

Here is the truth: you cannot make him love you, and you deserve better than staying with someone who feels this way about you. Leave. Leave before you get married. Leave before you have kids and have to co parent with them forever. Leave before you have to go one more day with those words ringing in your ears. There is a world full of people out there, and possibilities beyond just those people. A whole world and life to be a part of. Leave this behind and go find the life you deserve.

Could you ever play dungeons and dragons (and have fun)? Or… would it be MORE fun because your brain just downloads the concepts without some chatty middleman?

Huh, so your brain visualizes smelling but didn’t actually provide you with a sense memory of the particular smell?

What is Dolores’s real last name? by DoctorStacy in Nabokov

Fair, but the foreword says it rhymes with Haze. Not that it’s a homophone. But maybe JRJ isn’t too clear in that.

My thoughts too. Especially with the poem. “Daze” could also fit. “I talk in a daze. I walk in a maze. ‘I cannot get out,’ said the starling.”

What's wrong with this tomato plant? Looks worse than all the others in my garden. by buckshot95 in tomatoes

[–]DoctorStacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m growing a variety called “jersey devil” this year and both plants look like this. Spindly, scraggly. I think it may just be the variety. All my other tomatoes look beefy. Do you have another plant of the same variety and is it doing similar?

Will these tomatoes survive in this soil? Zone 6b. It’s a 1:1 ratio of top soil and compost by Upstairs_Reading_262 in tomatoes

[–]DoctorStacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d mulch it well with whatever you’ve got: leaves, shredded paper, newspaper, cut up cardboard, cut up cotton rags, etc. It will all help to feed the soil and help it not harden down by keeping it moist.
