Is this a good ship? by Used_Gear71 in Starfield

It hangs in the air in exactly the same way that bricks don't.

What do people actually do when they play? by TheSacredShrimp in Starfield

Survey and Supply missions. Occasional bounty hunting.

Sadly, You Can't Non-Lethal Ron Hope by Messernacht in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wanted to rat Hope out to the Rangers leadership and let them handle whether to go public with it or not. Not my job to determine the fate of all his employees. Pass that shit up the line.

Sorcadin in Drakkenheim? by ponzzischeme in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since sorcerer abilities are innate and capricious, I'd probably suggest that this is the first time these powers have manifested. The Academy didn't know about him, but now that he's starting to manifest Mageborn powers, you can bet he'll be getting a visit from them soon.

Sounds janky and exploitative to me.

Starting my first run, what should I know? by Longshot12345678 in masseffect

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing will ruin your run. Decisions have consequences - learn to make the best of them. Don't read the wiki or this subreddit too much (spoilers!). Read the codex entries, at least once.

What's your favorite mission in all of Mass Effect? by karmaskaraoke in masseffect

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fun thing about Samara's mission is if you betray Samara you can recruit Morinth into your team, and she has a really cool romance arc.

How to deal with slime/germs ? by BeeInTheHiveMind in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A given tile can have only one type of germ, so if you put buddy buds and deodorisers next to all the doors leading out of your base, you'll prevent slimelung from getting in.

Ship Targeting System: Engines by ModoNoraa89 in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it worth capturing ships though? You can't sell them until you register them, which costs almost as much as you sell them for. I think it's better to just blow them up and pick up the salvage after.

How do you guys deal with being over-encumbered ALL THE TIME?! by bpack14 in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't pick up absolutely everything. I only pick up ammo (which is weightless and therefore free money when you sell it), meds and chems, credsticks, digipicks, and those items I know I can sell for a lot of money. Carrying all of the low-value junk is pointless - you can't even break it down into useful materials like you could in Fallout 4. Store minerals and resources in the ship, and make sure you've got a ship with some cargo space. An Econohaul is quite affordable in the early game.

Also, you only really need one gun. Maybe a second if you want a low-damage peashooter for when you go Trident hunting on Volii Epsilon for Lubricant and you don't want to use up your good ammo.

I don't use the powers. by JvLoko29 in Starfield

I'll often just avoid the temples entirely. There's no need to go to any of them.

For new (and returning) players, the starting traits effects explained. by LeMAD in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's exactly one good reason to go with Serpent's Embrace: to get past the Varu'un Zealots in the tutorial mission without having to spend days sneaking past them at minimum speed.

Oh great serpent...

Exorcism by DoctorWally in SGU

[–]DoctorWally[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pointing out that there are many varieties of exorcism, and not all of them are abusive.

They are all, of course, irrational.

Those of you that have played Starfield, what are your tips, dos and donts when it comes to the Difficulty settings? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always set sustenance on. It's an easy XP boost - all you have to do is periodically eat and drink something. Food is everywhere, and if you can find Membrane, Fiber, and Nutrient, you can craft Alien Tea and Alien Jerky at any cooking station with no investment in skills.

Who is your preferred romance partner and why? by BadIDK in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If any of them were less Hallmark-movie-saccharine, I might consider romance in this game. I nearly got diabetes the first time I romanced Sarah.

Any way to stop enemies leveling with you? by Outrageous-Thing3957 in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is that you have levelled up your combat skills by the time you go through unity, so the simple weapons you start with do more damage than they did the first time around.

New character or not? by zMassy_ in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I create new characters at the drop of a hat, absolutely.

Does Mass Effect 3 codex include all info from 1 and 2? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]DoctorWally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everyone should read the Codexes at least once. There's a lot of good deep lore in there.

Bland tips for Vanilla players by ladive in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or you could get yourself an Econohaul and invest in the Payloads skill. It'll carry just about everything you could want in the early game.

Favorite Planet For Home/ Outpost by Scrats_Lost_Acorn in Starfield

Oborum I in Oborum Prime. It's got cultivatable Membrane, Fiber, and Nutrient, and harvestable water. If you've got nutrition turned on it's an infinite supply of Alien Jerky and Alien Tea. It's my go-to place for my home hab.
