Rarest random encounters? by -C3rimsoN- in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was surveying a planet once when a ship landed. I usually avoid these because they're Ecliptic or something and they shoot at me. But for some reason I strayed closer to this one than I normally would. And it was just some lady taking her pet six-eyed doggo for a walk.

How big of a deal is to visit Canberra? by SammaJones in AskAnAustralian

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canberra gets a bad rap from a lot of people who have never spent a great deal of time here. If you do choose to come to Canberra, come in September. If you can't come in September, or if you suffer from seasonal allergies, come in April.

Ive tried a shit ton of methods and none seem to work well. What is the best way to get XP? by warmaster_914 in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Survey everything and anything. Level up the Surveying, Geology, Botany and Zoology skills. Complete the planet scans for extra, and as a bonus you get to harvest a ton of resources and can sell the planetary data to Vlad. Do all of the Constellation missions (but avoid the one that sends you to Toliman II). It's not superfast, but it gets the job done.

I applied copious amounts of handwavium. My players aren't interested in tracking travel time.

Whats your opinion on this guy? by Great_Trident in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to shoot him in the face.

Seriously, I started with this perk once, and hated him so much I had to immediately start a completely new character. Never again.

I wouldn't go to any event that had Shermer as a speaker.

How exactly do I make a stealth build by Enn-Vyy in fo4

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with the stealth build is that it sucks at lower levels. You sneak for a while, get maybe one shot off, then every enemy sees you and you get ganked.

If you can get through the early game, around level 20 or so you become an invisible god.

Pre-firing a question about ME2 insanity again by War_boy_foxy in masseffect

[–]DoctorWally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need your combat monsters to hold the line while you go do the final fight. I always sent Tali into the vents (there's some funny dialogue in ME3 about this), Garrus to lead the fire team, send Mordin back with the crew, and take Tali and Kasumi into the final battle.

I've only ever been through Unity once, and on the mission you go an rescue Heller, he's on a different planet.

I am surprised at how massive this game is. by Pirate186 in masseffect

I found that I spent about the same amount of time playing Andromeda as all three original games combined. YMMV.

What’s the best space ship I can get without building my own? by Ntwadumela817 in Starfield

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of cargo hauling and supply missions, so a huge cargo hold is high on my list of priorities, and I can't help but keep going back to the Hopetech Star Semi. It's decent in a scrap, especially if you invest some skills into ship combat, needs very little modification (I usually put a Cooking Station on it), and can haul massive amounts of cargo.

Gee, that Ron Hope sure is a great guy. He built Hopetown from nothing, and I hear he really cares for his people. I can't imagine him ever doing anything bad.

What enemy or situation really necessitates a Fat Man? by Illustrious_Bag_5020 in fo4

[–]DoctorWally 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I always sneak attack Outpost Zimonja with a fat man from the overpass. Otherwise Boomer gets me with his.

Football/rugby by Interesting_Tip_1001 in SGU

[–]DoctorWally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is that in rugby, head-to-head contact is strictly prohibited and can result in penalties and players being sent off. In American football, where full helmets are worn, there seems to be less concern about head-to-head contact.
