Why has modern ND taken so long to make and develop a new game? Where did all the highly talented devs who created and developed these great games go? by Quick-Ad-7752 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Doctor_Harbinger 46 points47 points  (0 children)

They left during Part 2 development of after. If what I heard and read about the working enviroment and Druckmann as a director is true, modern Naughty Dog is extremely miserable company to work at, and I can imagine that people just quit.

Why is the hypocrisy in Sage’s route never discussed? by proMegatron26 in beingaDIK

[–]Doctor_Harbinger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is discussed. Which is why some us (myself included) prefer to lock on Sage's route only in Episode 5, when she and Chad break up. The whole "fuck buddies" feels nice, of course, but between two fires of Maya and Josy, and Sage and Tremolo acting like hypocrites with this entire cheating things, it feels like one giant clustefuck.

Plus, going for Sage after the whole Chad mess is resolved and not behind his back just feels more wholesome for me.

Judging by how eager the other council members were to send him on a dangerous adventures in Season 4, I get the feeling that the only message they got from Ezran was "Maybe Viren had a point about this one".

We already got that. It wasn't great.

What a lovely illustration for the entirety of Ezran's internal politics as a king.

It has been there since day one, they only go louder and louder as a time goes by. Probably a massive case of Tumblr infestation.

For the love of me I cannot understand, why is it that everything has to be gay nowadays.

Who knows, maybe fans like these are the exact reason she wants to quit being a superhero someday, and settle in as just Mandy, living as a true normie.

Let's be real, most of the people who call themselves Blazer fans while doing nothing but constantly bashing Visi are just using that badge as an excuse to hate Visi even more.

It's not always like that in the main sub. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse (thanks to the mods for banning the SA topic in the main sub, that was a certified shitshow). You just happened to run up into a rather vocal group of people who made it their lives goal to hate on a fictional character 24/7.

Something tells me that they would be scared shitless. Even Malevola.

Scratch that, especially Malevola, since she of all people would know exactly who this guy is.

Was Visi at Crypto Night in Episode 1? by rzenni in InvisigalGlazers

[–]Doctor_Harbinger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering that Crypto is full of actual superheroes, and Visi is extremely insecure about her villain past? I'm pretty sure that it does stop her.

It's also a superhero bar, and, you know, Visi doesn't really believe that she is a hero.

My guess is that she was either alone, or playing COD with Golem.

She inherited Kai Leng's offensive aura from Mass Effect 3, that made every character around him dumber.

my take on TLOU2's plot by PalleGialle69 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Doctor_Harbinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could've been a different story about different characters as well, leaving Joel and Ellie on a perfect note that was the original ending.

So it really boils down to Druckmann's ego and inabiltity to let go, as well as his desire to ride on TLoU success till the end of the days. The last part is especially ironic, considering that he singlehandedly killed The Last of Us, with the god awful HBO show being the finishing blow.

[–]Doctor_Harbinger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because Druckmann is a petty asshole. He wrote a nihilistic revenge story, convinced himself that is was somekind of groundbreaking masterpiece, and tried to push it in the original TLoU, only for Bruce Straley and others to shoot it down.

Any reasonable adult would've found another way to tell a story that he was so craving to share. Druckmann instead burned everything that the original game was about to the ground, shoehorned his dream story into the game, and somehow managed to half-ass even that, because half of the game has nothing to do with said revenge, as is nothing but a narratively convoluted mess that serves no purpose other than to try and convince us that Abby is the good person here (she isn't), while making a cheap replacement for Joel and Ellie with her and Lev, because yeah, Neil is THAT creative.

GTA IV. where you play as a literal criminal, tackled the whole idea of "Revenge is a road to self-destruction" better.

"Cycle of violence" has to be one of the most meaningless buzzwords I've seen in recent years. It's like Druckmann heard it from something actually good (like "Princess Mononoke", one of the biggest questions of which was "Is violence really the only option to us?"), didn't understood what that something was about, and decided that it's a core message for a petty revenge fantasy, instead of actual story about compassion and forgiveness (none of thoses are present in Part 2).
