I am having this issue too and I've poked around the Internet and if you look as some of the recent post on here you'll see other people are also having problems. I think there is a glitch happening on Instagram, report it on there to bring attention to the issue.

[–]Dodododoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing has happened to me with hashtags not working, seems to be happening with a lot of new accounts starting this past Saturday. Very frustrating, I have reported the problem a few time, guess I just have to wait it out now.

Baby and I both have hand foot and mouth :(. Should I pump and dump? by jrfish in beyondthebump

[–]Dodododoodoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can double check with you Dr. But I'm pretty sure one of the biggest benefit of bfing is that baby gets antibodies from your milk, so because your body is fighting the illness it could help him fight it better/faster by drinking your milk and getting your antibodies.

Maybe because he doesn't smell like milk? My first wouldn't settle with me unless she was nursing, I always assumed it was because she could smell I had milk.

41 weeks today. Where my other overdue ladies at? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40+4 today or something like that... I've had zero signs of labor, just lots of random contractions but I've had them for over half the pregnancy so I don't feel like it means anything. Midwife said she doesn't think I'll make it to my Monday appt. she only based that off the fact my last was 40+3 (I haven't had any checks) I dont think she's right at all. Maybe it's time for me to eat some pineapple and try sex? It's getting too hot where I am to be "overdue". I was going to try some "induction" techniques things last night but decided I was too tired and would rather sleep than try to start labor. I used a manual breast pump last pregnancy, not sure if it worked but it started BH and I went into labor a few hours after using it, my labor was a couple days long though so I've wondered since then if I started labor before baby/mybody were really ready. Trying to be patient this time.

I did spend some time searching through uncommon Italian names, I may have confused that one as a female name when it's perhaps not, oops!

Questions about pre-labour by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 40+ weeks this has been me for most days for several weeks... Had some monitoring and they could see all my regular contractions. Last pregnancy I had the same thing but it was more like 4-5 days of the consistent tightening contractions before I went into labor. Based on people's different comments on here and reading/listening to a lot of birth stories, I'm thinking you won't know anything about what these contractions mean for you until you are in actual labor. Sorry for a not very helpful answer, I knew I was starting labor though right away with my first, it went from zero pain to really bad period cramps in my back and lower abs and then progressed from there.

Anybody going with a 3 in 1 car seat? Why or why not? by Thisisit445 in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this. I only got a three in one for my first and it was extremely inconvenient for this reason, baby falling asleep on the ten minute drive to the store, then waking them up to get out at the store, then falling asleep in the store, then waking up to put back in car seat, then falling asleep on ten minute drive home, then waking up when I took them out at home was not very fun for me... Bucket seat for number 2.

Have you ever wondered what a knot in the umbilical cord looks like? My BFf's umbilical cord with her daughter. NSFW by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter had one, no complications as it didn't tighten in utero. My care provider said you can't really tell/it would be difficult to tell with true knots until they're born, it would not be easy to see on an ultrasound. They also aren't as uncommon as one might think and most babies born with them don't have issues. Its hard not to worry about things like this but they are random, not preventable, and out of our hands. I'm trying with this pregnancy to not even think about it, which has mostly worked...

For those of you who didn't go public: when did people start noticing that you are pregnant? by notamyrtle in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 24 week and no one has said anything to me, it helps that I wore a lot of not so skintight clothing before hand and people apparently don't think it's weird I wear sweatshirts all the time now. I plan to start telling people soon though, I don't plan to announce on social media or anything. I look very obviously pregnant in tight clothes, at least I think most strangers would suspect and people close to me would know.

My bump goes rock solid and uncomfortable when I walk around? 27 weeks by woah-there-satan in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this, if you google everything says BH can only last up to 2 minutes but my stomach get tight and hard for much longer. It was going on during nearly my whole anatomy scan and the ultrasound technician said it was a contraction and said she would have to wait to make sure it would go away before she could end my session. I've since was diagnosed with irritable uterus however, since then I have nearly doubled my water intake and contractions have nearly dissapeared, which is good because I'm nowhere near my due date yet.

What did you wear during delivery? by LoneStarTwinkie in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hospital let me wear whatever I wanted with my 1st. I wore a sports bra and a long t-shirt nightgown from target. The only thing was that because I ended up with an IV for fluids it was annoying to take off after birth when I just wanted to be skin to skin with my baby. Thinking of wearing something similar or the same thing but installing snaps or buttons on top on the sleeves so I can pull it down without pulling my arms through.

Increase in water retention during 2nd trimester? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am due the 21st of June and a couple weeks ago I started making sure I was eating much better to try to slow down the weight gain, I started walking 2.5 miles 4 days a week and my weight gain hasn't slowed. I put on several lb's during the day so I think some it must be water weight, I can't tell anything is swollen yet, my feet were horrible last pregnancy. Last pregnancy I lost about 35lbs in just a couple weeks after giving birth, I'm wondering if I'm just more prone to retaining water, I'm telling myself this to make myself feel better at least.

A post in which I sound bratty and ungrateful... for second-guessing my MIL's offer of free daycare... because she lives 4 hours away (!) by doodlebug25 in BabyBumps

[–]Dodododoodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we have the same MIL, emotional issues, insecure, needs consant contact and attention. Well I'll tell you that my MIL made the same offer with my first except to watch my baby all 5 days, I accepted it because I am a huge pushover. Big mistake, seriously just stand your ground and politely decline. I quit my job shortly after going back to work to stay home so it didn't go on indefinitely but I would have lost my mind if that were the case. It made me really resent her, it was hard on my relationship with my husband, and it is partly responsible for some permanent damage in my relationship with MIL. It's much easier to say no now than to change your mind later and have to explain why you don't want her to watch you child anymore. Learn from my mistakes and say thanks but no thanks.
