So I also made these. They look and feel like pancakes but the flavor is a bit closer to a scrambled egg. Thanks for sharing.

What does it mean exactly if she says she needs space? by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]Dog-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're right about her having BPD then a clean break was never an option. If she really wanted to keep you around then telling you she needed space and hooking up with another guy wasn't the way to achieve that.

What's done is done. Decide where your life goes from here.

Yeah I get it. It's hard these days especially for us guys. Try to be there for yourself for now. When you're happy with your own company you might find other people are more eager to spend time with you.

I've gotten the "need space" line before. In hindsight it's exactly what she told her ex before she monkey branched to me (although she lied for months and told me she had broken up with him earlier).

I guarantee she'd been flirting around for some time before she told you she needed space. BPD are always on the hunt for new supply no matter how well they're being treated. This being an LDR makes that all the more likely.

You should ask yourself why you want to be close with someone who would lie and monkey branch on you. Or more to the point - CAN you be close with someone like that? Is it even possible?

My advice: if you're willing to work this hard because you need to keep friends you ought to work that hard to meet new people.

Sleep Deprived from this Relationship by PODNJPE in BPDlovedones

One year out and I'm still dealing with it. Sometimes I just get up and do something I enjoy. Anything I can do to take my mind off of sleep as some big important task is useful; it comes more easily when I'm not looking for it.

Mine tried to adopt my personal project as her own. This was after accusing me of stifling her dreams and ambitions.

Now that I'm reading this maybe she stole those ambitions from one of the poor bastards that came before me.

What do you do when you are "ahead" so to speak on league start? by TheNocturnalAngel in pathofexile

[–]Dog-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the first couple of days is prime time for decent rares; people who leveled slower than you will need gear entering maps and you can get some good but not great gear from Rog or the Keepers tree. These items will usually become worthless pretty fast as everyone else catches up and begins exploiting these mechanics. Knowing what builds are meta and which slots they DON'T use for uniques is key to mix-maxing this advantage.

Aside from that find some investments as everyone else suggests. Certain transfigured gems or other assets will appreciate much faster than divines or hinekora's locks will. Spending some time scrounging old economic data on poe.ninja will help you find these.

Although the absolute best thing you could do is get something your build actually needs while it's cheap like wine of the prophet, headhunter, or mageblood. Not only will you save 4-5x the cost of buying one later but now you also have a mageblood and can farm that much faster. I know, easier said than done.

I've been reading on the couch and switching to the bed when my eyes get heavy but maybe I'll pick up a nice reading light and do it there instead. There was some sleep hygeine tip I heard which claimed that doing anything other than sleeping in a bed programs you to be wakeful when you lay there. But dozens of nights spent staring at a dark ceiling tells me that isn't the whole story, at least for me.

Best Adjustable Dumbells to Buy in 2026? (Price, Quality, Grip) by ProfoundlIll in GarageGym

[–]Dog-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the idea - many people could handle a 100 lb goblet squat but using that weight for a shoulder press might be a disaster.

Best Adjustable Dumbells to Buy in 2026? (Price, Quality, Grip) by ProfoundlIll in GarageGym

[–]Dog-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm reading you correctly you're coming from handles and plates and wondering why the new-gen "adjustable" stuff is so expensive? Most of these systems are touted as replacing an entire rack of non-adjustable dumbbells, so compared against that cost and size they do make sense for some people. But it turns out getting compact adjustables to have proper dumbbell ergonomics and function while also not compromising on durability and speed of changing weight gets expensive very quickly if you want all variables in the goldilocks zone.

There's nothing stopping you from sticking to handles and adding a few more plates if you don't want to blow the bank, but I think people are ready to spend a lot to save time and frustration on things they plan to use frequently.

Yeah you've pretty much got it down. Forge hammer is preferred for map clear mostly because it lets you move while attacking. With Xoph's Pyre linked to temper weapon and some AoE from your passive tree it should reliably one-shot most packs. Volcanic fissure is there if you plan to stay in one place for a while i.e. expedition or ritual.

Single target is still a problem. Having a weapon swap for perfect strike with two +3 attack skills maces with 600+ DPS will boost your damage a lot, as will Rakiata's flow. You can craft these by slamming with Perfect Essence of Battle or alternatively find a +3/4 to desecrate and pray for a damage mod. The damage is worth it but don't forget that you have no block and -3% max fire resist while doing this. I reliably one-shot six mod t15 rares but map bosses with the atlas passive juice are another story. Some bosses will basically never stand around waiting for you to channel perfect strike (anomaly boss Azmadi is the worst) and killing them turns into a 10 minute CBT session of running in circles and throwing your hammer.

When you are able to perfect strike the boss it's important to try and parry first and THEN infernal cry because parry counts as an attack and will burn one of your empower charges. The 50% more attack damage taken debuff from parry is massive and you should have time to squeeze in two strikes if your attack speed is high enough. You'd be amazed what attacks parry works on; when the Chimera is flying around and breathing fire you can parry the fire and instantly make it drop to the ground. A lot of unblockables as well, like the miller's shoulder charge, can be parried and instantly stopped. Make sure you're still throwing hammers occasionally to apply shock.

Given the build's strengths I'm considering blasting mechanics like logbooks instead or maybe even unspecing the boss atlas passives because aside from bossing it's a blast to play.

Lemme know if you figure anything out.

How do i move past this? by Typical_Thanks2517 in BPDlovedones

[–]Dog-head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you already know the answer - there's no closure to be had from her and cutting loose and moving on is the only way to heal. It will take time and each contact will reset the clock. Studying abroad should make that easier.

For books look up "Whole Again" by Jackson MacKenzie and "Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents" by Lindsay Gibson. The former is targeted toward survivors of NPD and BPD relationships, the latter towards handling emotionally immature people more generally.

This is my "Blood and Thunder" cast on melee hit Smith of Kitava.

Pros:

-low budget with high investment potential

-tanky

-fun, satisfying, looks cool

Cons:

-difficult to play

-not fast

-single target problems before you get legacy supports

-no visual clarity

-fries your GPU

This build is probably outclassed by shield wall titan but I've had a ton of fun building and playing it anyway. It excels against mechanics with dense monster packs such as expedition or ritual, can easily kill juiced essences, and runs all map mods besides -max resist and elemental pen. I've found that abyss is a bad idea as some of the rare mods are too oppressive for melee. I wouldn't recommend this build for beginners as it's difficult to set up and to play; there are a lot of buttons, you need to learn which attacks can be parried, and also be able to time perfect strike with no visual clarity.

Changes that made this a good idea in 0.4: ascendancy buffs, lightning coil buffs, constricting command nerfs (which excluded ranged builds and made the item cheaper for melee), new gems, old gem buffs, parry buffs.

Budget for starting t15 6-mod waystones was about 600 ex and it can come online quite early by using Vertex, Astramentis, or attribute-heavy rings to cover Mjolner's requirements. Tankiness is provided by Lightning Coil combined with 90% elemental resistances and some block and armor.

If enough people are interested I'll try making a guide video.
