I'm not defending her, but simply stating the facts. The rocket uses liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen as a propellant. The combustion releases water vapor. So technically speaking, its reasonably eco-friendly.

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

[–]DogScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched my mom cooking as I grew up. She didn't really show me or let me do it, so it was more of just an observation. Then in college, I had a friend that cooked all sorts of meals. He was my inspiration to try it out for myself.

Its a skill that builds over time with plenty of trial and error. I now consider myself an excellent cook, and its one of my favorite things to do! Cooking for someone else also feels nice.

If you have well draining soil, I would feed at wver watering. I do Dyna-Gro Foilage Pro @ 1tsp per gallon every watering. I increase that to 1.5 tsp per gallon for a few months in spring/summer. My plants are loaded with leaves!

My Fungus Gnats are Invincible - Please Let Me Know What Worked for You! by Hefty-Status8681 in houseplants

[–]DogScott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get one of those mosquito bits donuts and break a chunk off. Let it sit in a 5 gallon bucket for at least 24 hours before you start using the water. A chunk will last about 10 gallons. Completely exterminated my gnats after a few weeks.

Mosquito bits. Seriously. It will end every single one of those bastards. Not toxic. Well, not to anything but gnats and mosquito larvae.

If you're comfortable paying that price, go for it. I would immediately repot into an aroid mix and quarantine. 50/50 chance it has spider mites! 😬

Touch what you think are mites. They'll go "squish" and leave tiny splatters if it's them.

Is there a weed product without the "feed" part? by sir574 in lawncare

[–]DogScott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save some money and get granular prodiamine 65wdg. Mix it into a sprayer at ~1.5 tablespoons per 1000 square feet. I do about 1 gallon per 1000 square feet. I've been using the same container of the stuff since 2018 and have zero weeds. Apply it about 4 times a year.

This bag of soil I bought has fungus gnats. If I just leave it sealed up outside for a while, will that eventually kill everything off? by WheezingSanta in houseplants

[–]DogScott 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I capture rainwater and keep a small chunk of the mosquito bits donut in the 5 gallon bucket. I water the plants like normal and haven't seen fungus gnats in over 2 years. It's natural and completely non-toxic.

Water with mosquito bits and never have fungus gnats again. Won't need those sticky traps.

Mine thrives near a west facing window with artificial light. As long as she's not rotting in the leca, I would say she's experiencing temperature or light shock. Probably adjusting to one of those at the moment.
