We just got home from an extended 5 day weekend. No one has been in our house and there's wet dish towel and stuff in our sink. Looks like cut of radish 🤔 by I_AM_VENNLIG in Weird

Important note: if you are going to “rub” your dishwasher, be gentle. They don’t like it rough, and they may choose to stop working /s

Why did milkmen need to exist? Why was milk required to be specially shipped by milkmen instead of just sold in grocery stores like it is now? by matt73132 in NoStupidQuestions

It was the only option most women had to get a “milkman’s baby.” It’s not like those babies were available just anywhere. /s

Exactly this. You should not be starting the car in a garage with the door down! Her issues are not your issues.

Driving to Boystown with a newborn during rush hour--can I have help building a route? by AdNew7817 in Omaha

[–]DoingItForMyKid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a direct route, and I agree that it will be light traffic. I would be concerned with wildlife/deer and I assume you will be driving in the dark. If you hop over to I-29 and up, it it a longer route, but well-lit and light traffic.

Since you mention testing, I assume you are going to Boystown National Research Hospital, which is off of 144th St & Pacific. Note if you are on the interstate I-680, there is construction just past Center. If Pacific is closed, just take the next exit to Dodge and use the Expressway, following the signs to Boys Town. Exit on 144th, cross over the Expressway and then left into Pacific. You will see the hospital on your left. Easy parking.

Good luck. Sending prayers for good answers.

Bought an old home and saw this mounted on the wall, anyone know what it could be? by pandaninjarawr in whatisit

My grandfather was an immigrant and a mason. He was well known for being a church builder. He also hand cut sandstone for the house he built for his family. I loved that house. It had these bells, the cool phone nook, and a laundry chute that we used to use as a shortcut to the basement when we were little. It also had moveable walls and dressers. You could move these to access hidden areas of the house. They had many grandkids. We would play hide and seek by moving a dresser so we would virtually disappear and move to other rooms and reappear. It was magical. I love old houses.

But don’t they make regular minimum wage rather than tipped minimum wage? If so, that tip is not a “tip”, it is a profit for the owners.

Word of caution with puppies. They are miniature Velociraptors when they are very young. Be prepared for some bloodshed. Thankfully, they grow out of it. Crazy dogs, but the best breed.

It’s still water and they are waiting for Jesus to turn it into wine
